  1. That turned out great, nice match on the color!
  2. Hey now, I’ve actually never lost any rollers, just thought I did on this one because if the deceptive spacing. I’m certain now that this particular rod has the 13 roller set up, no plastic cage involved. The plastic cage I was referring to was for the crankshaft bearing that had a crack in it.
  3. This roller situation may have just gotten a little more weird. Big thanks to JustO&R for providing the spare bearing rollers and plastic bearing cage! Good news is the plastic cage fit great. What is strange is when I started putting the connecting rod bearings back together I tried to use one of the spare rollers and there is absolutely no way to get 14 rollers in there. Everything measures out to be the right size It seems odd to have almost a full roller gap in there but maybe it’s only suppose to have 13. That matches the set that JustO&R reference only having 13 as well. I put it all back together with just 13, guess we will see what happens. I can send these spare spare rollers back to you JustO&R so you’ll have them when you need them in the future.

Seems I generally have to pay $125 or more for just engines as well...

Ha, I saw that as well and was baffled. There have been quite a few Tiny Tigers on eBay lately I’m varying condition but they still seem to hover around $125-175.
  6. I didn’t notice the chain drive at first, that’s pretty cool! David- can you add a photo of the front view?
  7. Here are a couple close-up pics. Looks like it should be a pretty common style cap. In addition to WalMart a store like REI or Container Store might be another place to look. https://www.containerstore.com/s/travel/bottles-medication/2-oz.-flip-spout-bottle/12d?productId=11009936
  8. That Aquabug turned out really nice, awesome job JustO&R!
  9. Looks great! By the way, that stamped metal Ohlsson & Rice sign is pretty awesome!
  10. Wow, very nice! Do you think that is an original product or a custom use of an engine? It looks kind of like an O&R bicycle engine applied to a pumper cycle.
  11. Very cool, nice find! Looks like it’s in good shape too!
  12. I don’t know if this one has been posted before but I don’t recall seeing this particular water pump. Any ideas on the manufacturer? https://www.gasenginemagazine.com/equipment/reflections-april-1998
  13. Here are a couple photos... Each roller bearing measures approximately 0.093” in diameter and 0.276” long
  14. I’ll take a look when I get home but I’m pretty sure it had the slot on the bottom of the con rod.
  15. Wow- that is a variety of options!
  16. Hmmmm, very interesting. Let me take another close look at it tonight but I’m almost certain there is no way to get 16 in there. I wonder if they changed the ID of the connecting rod opening or went to slightly smaller OD rollers at some point. This 117 definitely looks like an earlier engine since it has the steel baffles, old style coil, etc.
  17. Thanks David- I was starting to get confused as well between the versions. This Type 117 only has room for 14 (at least for the size rollers it came with).
  18. Yeah, from now on I’m going to add one of those magnetic part pans inside the big pan.
  19. Ok, good. I don’t want the good stuff you need to keep that!
  20. Ok, cool - the ones you have are used right? No need to break into any NOS sets.
  21. Ha, I did I’m always extra careful with these bearings. I actually think someone else was in this engine before and may have lost one.
  22. Does anyone by chance have a couple spare, used bearing rollers that go to the bottom (large) end of the connecting rod? I was thinking there may have been one missing when I took this engine apart and now that I’m reassembling it I’m certain once is missing. I think there are supposed to be 14 of these rollers and there are only 13.
  23. I’ll dig through some stuff later this evening and see if I might have a spare push rod.
  24. That’s pretty neat, very cool drill!
