Where I started work there was a fibreglass department. The moulds were made of wood  and smeared with silicone grease I think. It was a while ago.
Another way would be to make a mould using the original as a mould for the mould. If you follow me.

Good weather and a dry day means mowing the lawn. We occasionally collect the clippings and dump them up the field. Here's a few pics whilst we were up there

We have completed another video on progress. I have to say I prefer working on the tractor to editing a video but my son Joseph wants a video diary of progress. Comments welcomed.

A friends Mom flipped his Work Horse on it's side 10 years ago.
Horse went to the dealer, repaired and a new 48" SD deck. Parked in his barn after repairs. Never used again.
Cleaning out his barn I offered, "I'll haul the tractor away 'No Charge."  Leon Redbone agreed.

After cleanup, a bit of paint,  added the Dial-A-Height, machine is excellent.
Didn't care for all gray, belt guards are now Rustoeum Regal Red. Coarse skateboard grip tape on the foot rests, new seat.

I am not sure if I have introduced my HT23 on here before. I bought the tractor in 2009 and I mainly use it for grass cutting duties

Last year I lifted the deck and one of the deck lift bolts broke, I then managed to rip up the wood threshold on the door of my workshop trying to drive it in with the deck dragging on the ground. I have been a bit busy so it has taken me until now to get around to fixing it.

First I remove the old lift bolts, looks like someone has been here before as they should not be made out of M12 threaded rod

I then pulled one off my HT20 so I could see what they should look like

I then made some replacement parts

then I made a quick frame to hold the parts in place for welding

I even gave them a quick coat of paint before fitting

I can't believe what a difference it makes, the deck lift has never been this good. Another job done.

    Hi all,

After a lot of trying to get the 1978 Gazelle's engine going, the best we could get it to go was Ok-ish, so I decided I'd put that engine on the back burner and use the engine from my other Westwood in this one (the engine Chris gave me! ), as the other Westwood is more custom anyway I was thinking about dropping a twin Briggs or something like that in it, and keeping this one mainly original. So I finished the job today of getting the engine in this one and it runs and drives great, lots of fun. Here's a picture of the mower and Saxon trailer. Soon I would like to get a new seat and perhaps replace the broken decals, but I like the patina so won't paint it, instead I used Owatrol Oil

Deciding not to alter things to much, I cut off the folded edge of the foot plate and that has give 3/8" to 1/2" of clearance for the tyre. Next, out with the jigsaw and I opened up the hole for the fuel tank filler cap .
Put everything back together and time for a photo shoot.

    And a comparison photo.

By 'eck!  Wasn't expecting that much difference. 3-1/4" difference.

That throws up another problem. Getting enough ploughing depth. Maximum I will be able to get is just over 4" deep. Could be another addition to the Black Horse topic.

Drew a blank on the weights. Guess they have all be snapped up by body builder types.

Got the wheels top coated today. Got told they looked like new. Then got asked when I was going to do the patio by her studio.

    Got them fitted as well.

Spacers made and fitted to lift the fender by 7/8th".  This showed up three more things to modify.

    (1) The hole for the filler cap needs to be opened up. You can't get hold of the cap now.

    (2) The tyre fouls the back edge of the foot plate. Needs the edge trimmed and/or bent forward.

    (3) Also the front bottom edge of the fender will need to be altered, to allow the foot plate back to be bent forward.
