    Bolens Racing

Great photo of the Bolens in action. Is that your garden Nick?
  8. That's 'kin lovely Ewan! If I have to have an iconic image of an American GT, the original Cub Cadet is the one that I always think of ( after the Bolens of course !). Absolute credit to you and I can't wait to see your next project. Enjoy!
  9. This will be a learning curve for me when I get and use a ultrasonic cleaner. Any other tips worth mentioning to a novice?
  10. I am looking to buy one myself but this is all new to me too.......
  11. That's very nice Harry. Post up some more photos of it. Where did you find that one?
  12. I have to say Chris, it does sounds damn good. Hopefully I will get more updates soon and I am pleased (and relieved) that there is still signs of life in her.
  13. The 1254 is the first Bolens I ever bought and I owed it to the old girl to get her up and running. My mate, Daniel, offered his services to get her going. He made up a new loom a while back and thanks to Rick I bought a fuel tank off him and from Brian some belts and coil. Another contact in the States, Alain, sourced me a set of stators. I am really chuffed to hear that it is up and running, albiet briefly. Daniel informed me that "The head gasket is leaking oil out and over the exhaust manifold, i suppose this is good and bad, good that the oil is circulating the engine, but possible the rings are gone for there to be oil above the piston? The carb isn't leaking on the joint as bad but i have been turning the fuel tap off so it may do if left long enough, it is dribbling past the float, and from the adjustment screw, but nothing to loose sleep over."
  14. just one word to describe this. "Superb!" Absolutely lovely piece of work Chris.
  15. Alan, a Bolens tractor will really set it off!
  16. Looks brilliant Chris. I look forward to seeing it in August at Sedlescomble. What WH will you be using to pull that trailer?
  17. Beautiful workmanship Chris. The oiled wood really set it off a treat.
  18. That's a nice looking WH. As for valuation I am sure someone more familiar with these will come along presently.
  19. Looking bloody good Chris! Bet you are pleased with that.
  20. I have now sold this to a collector this afternoon who plan to get it up and running again before restoring it. Apparently the guy got quite a collection himself. Anyway it gone to a good home and it free up some space too.
  21. Norm, the trailer was part of my 'severance pay' as my customer were down sizing and moving up country. The owner of the trailer always looked after his possessions.
  22. For the tramission oil do you use EP90? If so can it be synthetic or no synthetic?
