  1. I like those rear tyres; what makes are those?
  2. Put your request in the Wanted Section of the forum. Always good old to see something in use earning its keep.
  3. Look like a good purchase and I am sure with fresh fuel and a service it will run pretty well engine wise.
  4. Ewan, you are really cracking on a pace with the International Cub Cadet. Look forward to the latest update
  5. I think the 600 was originally powered by a B&S ? So not sure how easy/hard that would be to find. It's a great little tractor too and I think anew peice of metal could be frabicated and welded in place to return the shape of the bonnet. I love the style of the round hood Bolens. I will have a look at your Wisconsin this week to see if there is a pulley on it. Cheers.
  6. That is what I am thinking about the weights too. Would a WH plough or Brinly plough be more suitable as these have been designed for garden tractors? Still, you have done a good job today ploughing and no doubt you will have learnt a lot as well.
  7. Thanks Iain; it been an enjoyable week and I am glad to return the favour to Chris. I now need to spend a bit of time on the H16 to assess it.
  8. Well done Chris; you have done yourself proud. Looks a really good day out. Would rear wheel weights be of help do you think? Also what plough are you using?
  9. Well it been a busy week with one thing or another. First I picked up the Bolens H16 in Cornwall, then on Thursday I picked up a Wisconsin engine for Chris in Dorset and then today I picked up a Bolens 600 with implements in Devon. Absolutely shattered with all this travelling coupled with holding down my work load and balancing time with the family. Now relaxing with a glass of red wine or two. i was was alerted to its existence thanks to Nick, aka wurzel. Chris also texted me enquiring whereabouts was Tiverton. I replied it was a 40 minutes run from me. A deal was worked out between Chris and I. I won the auction after some buttock clenching moments at the end. The deal is that Chris will have the 600 whilst I have the attachments comprising of Brinly plough with sleeve hitch, tiller and cultivator. The 600 been repowered with a Honda but unfortunately the bonnet been hacked on one side to shoe horn the engine in ( or rather dumped in there). It's a great little beast with character. 600 attachments and fittings are as rare as hen's teeth which is why I went for it. My plan is to clean the plough and treat it with Owatrol and the actual moldboard will be cleaned up and oiled to reduce rusting. A good week Bolens wise but back to normality on Monday with up the usual routine.
  10. You have done a nice job Chris and I love that number plate on your WH. My brother had a similar number plate beginning with BAP on his Series Ii Land Rover back in the 80s. I think it's a Sussex registered one.
  11. That's a proper rotovator for a proper garden tractor. I am very impressed with the quality of Gutbrod tractors. Maybe one day I will get one?
  12. I was tempted to buy a Mayfield scythe mower near me but resisted the temptation. I think it would be too bulky for what I would need it for unfortunately.

    Bolens H16

Iain, it was an amusing 5 minutes. Terry insisted that photos were taken otherwise I would be up the Swanee by havng to push a non working hydro up those ramps on my own. However, Terry did say he preferred the H16 over his Toro....... As you know it's a serious bit of kit the H16 and I can't wait to spend a bit of time to go over it.

    Bolens H16

Well I picked up the mighty Bolens H16 in Cornwall earlier this morning. I attach some some photos of it being loaded up on to the van. To ease loading Terry's son (Mark?) and I took off the mower deck which weighs a tonne ! Terry knocked up a wooden pole which had two holes to fit over some bolts of his ride on to push the Bolens up the ramp. What I can't understand is that when I took the photos I am sure the tractor was white and not red..... Obviously someone have photoshopped my photos between me leaving Cornwall this morning to download them. My thanks to both Terry and his son helping me load it up. i am going to have to ask Iain for some detailed photos of his deck set up on his H16

    Bolens H16

All being well, I will be collecting the H16 tomorrow morning. I will post some more photos of it when it's back in my possession.
  17. I am not WH owner but hopefully someone can help you out here. Good luck!
  18. The second dog not quite mastered the art of cmamaflague!
  19. I can only see one; where's the other one?!
  20. Good to see something different. Nice find too.
  21. You have done a good job there Alain. That should last another 20 years.
  22. A very nice Landy Mark and a cool photo in its natural habitat.
  23. I need to make room for my ever growing collection of Bolens tractors and have decided to sell the Lawn Keeper. It's not complete as there is no mower deck and the engine is a modern MTD one. Also there's no seat. These are very rare and I know of two others in the UK. Ideally I would like it to go to an enthusiast. Selling as I need the room to free up space for a few more Bolens GTs! The LK is in South Devon and I am looking for £75. PM me if you are interested. Thanks.

    Ariens GT17

Nick, The Ariens looks really good and you seems well set up in your van with the electric winch. Good to see something different too.

    what is it ?

I think it is a early CC with the dersirable round fenders. Obviously the engine is an addition due to the hacked hood.
