  1. I thought that too. They look like they will do the job nicely. I have a set with a flat face like this and it is perfect for mounting a second set on top. With two sets on a tractor they are unstoppable, no idea if that would be too much for ploughing but worth a thought. Iain
  2. Happy birthday Andrew (Bolens buddy), I hope you had a good one. Best wishes Iain
  3. That is a great looking 1050, I wish mine looked anywhere near that good. Iain
  4. Looks like I missed out on all the excitement last night. That looks like good HT20 and worth saving. If Andrew's having the tractor and Chris the tiller, then the wheel weights must be mine Iain
  5. Great video thanks for posting, they make it looks so easy. Iain
  6. For some reason this sounds very familiar
  7. Just been having another look at the pictures, they are great and I wish I had been able to go. A couple of things came to mind from the pictures: - In post number 14, picture 14 it looks like two shows in a row was too much for Norm as he appears to have fallen asleep at the wheel. - Even more alarming, in post 21, picture 10. I am sure Chris could have found a better place to put the porta loo Iain
  8. Came across these the other day. I feel for you guys. Iain
  9. Great job Alain and very amusing story. I feel sure that genius has been at some of my equipment too Iain
  10. Great pictures although I can't see any of Chris's Bolens. Has he been upsetting anyone? Iain
  11. I think it will only be possible for me to come to one long distance show next year, either this event or RPT. Iain
  12. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ like he said. I can't imagine any of my tracs looking this good Iain
  13. It sounds like a case of someone using a Bolens and realising how fantansic they are, then incorrectly coming to the conclusion that they must be sell for 10 times what other brands sell for. Iain
  14. Chris/Norm, The blades look great, you have done a fantastic job in a short time. Unfortunately I now feel the need to make one, another thing to add to the list. For a future modification, you could make the attachment bracket in two parts that can swivel. That way you could have one side of the blade lower/higher than the other, to enable you to grade an angle. Just a thought... Iain
  15. Mark, Good work. Bolens did it with the Versa-matic drive which is on a Bolens ride-a-matic. First diff lock now Versa-matic, your WH's are getting more Bolens like by the day Iain
  16. I have just got home after a very long journey back. Well worth the trip and I really enjoyed the day. it was great to meet everyone from the forum especially people I have not met befor; Norm, Andrew, Nigel, Ian and Paul. I would like to echo what others have said by thanking The Showman for his fantastic work organising our section of the event. Also thanks to Ian for letting me drive his GT14 around the arena, and to Nigel, Chris and The showman for letting my lad Joseph and I drive machines in the working area. Iain
  17. Great pictures. If everything goes to plan I will be making the long journey from Norfolk tomorrow to come to the show as a visitor. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and my son Joseph, is really excited about it too. See you tomorrow Iain
  18. Thanks Alain. In this case a previous owner has removed the ignition switch and replaced it with something that resembles a aftermarket car light switch. i think I will get the tractor running first and then tackle looking for a replacement switch Iain
  19. I've done the same on my Bolens HT23 where the fuel tank is located below the fuel pump. Works great and means the engine starts instantly rather than turning over until the fuel pulls the fuel Iain
  20. Andrew, the parts list for the LK is even less detailed than the EK. If the wiring diagram for the EK is correct then I should be able to use most Indak switches Iain

    Bolens 1256

Fantastic machine you have. Very annoying when previous owners drill holes in the dash. Iain
  22. Thanks for the info Andrew, I will follow up on that. Dr Bolens has a fantastic example too. I have been going through the parts list today and struggling with the ignition switch. It is a Bolens part number I have never come across before and does not appear to be used on any other Bolens I have. The ignition switch on the tractor has been swapped with a switch for on/off and a micro switch (which looks like something I have seen on a building lift) for the starter. Iain
  23. Andrew and Chris have got the definition of FMC spot on. I think some of you were thinking of other brands
  24. Great to see you back Alain. I have missed you too. Iain
