We will definitely be at Newby Hall, that would be awesome as I think I have too many parts missing. Let me know what you want for it, thanks

Great job on the plowing Joseph! The igloo is pretty awesome as well I made one myself (well more of an 'eggloo' but cheated since the back was built in a 2 foot snow drift

Thanks Chris, the RJ might be up and running by the weekend

Thanks for that Richard, it appears I am missing quite a few important things, I need to have a another look but I don't have the pawls, the return spring/ spring retainer or the pulley and sheave but I do have a cast part that doesn't look like a part from that diagram. I will have a look later and post a picture.

Heres the plate on the engine, Its a Kohler K141 6hp, Serial Number 1014, Spec Number 29287C. Its interesting to see that the plate says Kohler of Canada, I never noticed before, other kohlers we have say kohler of kohler. Does anyone know if this is an early engine?

Thanks Richard, the original one was only ever going to be a template but once i'd made it I couldn't be bothered to remake it out of thicker steel. One of the holes was too small so it forced me to remake it but i'm glad I did
I always try to save the paint if I can however it will inevitably get chipped at some point

Hi all, I have this kohler recoil for an engine I have but the spring is snapped and there may be some other parts missing. Has anyone ever rebuilt one? Or does anyone have one they would sell? Thanks
-
Thanks! it sure does Alan

A little more progress now I’m home for Easter break. I remade the throttle out of some thicker steel and gave it all a coat of paint. We are using bike brake cables for the linkage.
Not an exact match to the original but I’m pleased since I made it up from some photos.

I’ve seen a couple on eBay in the past year, think I might have seen one with quite a few attachments as well.

Little bit more done recently, the throttle was missing so looking at a few photos I mocked one up in card that looked about right and then cut it out in a piece of scrap, it will do for now if it works.

Some great exhibits! I like that RJ, but not sure on the rear wheels
