    Scrap Heap Saw bench.

Take one Liner saw bench minus engine. One Lister single cylinder diesel engine. A pair of Land Rover hubs and wheels and some scrap box section and this is what you get. And earning it's keep.

My Wheel Horses.. A mixed fleet

Hi all, just thought I would introduce you to my small Wheel Horse fleet. Starting with the smallest a 312-8. I have had her for many years and she has never let me down other the a broken drive belt and a tired battery.. I though I had a more upto date photo than this one.. The roll bar is no longer fitted. The roll bar is now fitted to this beauty. My GT-14 although I call her a GT14+2 as the original engine was rather tired and she is now running a Kohler Magnum 16hp Yep the +2 means 2 more HP I think the grin on Pete's face says it all The GT's engine has been giving me a few running problems of late, But I hope I have got it sorted now. And now onto the BIG Wheel Horse.. My Raider 20 6x6.. It's taken over four years to build her so far, and despite how she looks she's not finished yet.

Creosote/used engine oil mix was quite a widely used wood preservative once upon a time. I know of one or two 50yr old chicken sheds that are still going strong.

    Building a basement fireplace

Wasn't sure where to put this post...and it wasn't my idea to invent the fireplace...but it was my idea to build one in my basement. I started building this gas fireplace a few years ago and I've done everything myself so far Including building the room its in. so here are some older pics I found of it somewhat close to being finished. I will show the finished product sometime in the near future when its done.

    My Old Briggs Engines

Thanks Neil, and actually all the engines that are picture here are living on display shelves inside my house. I have about 50 old engines, most of which live at my shop, but these are the privileged few that live in a climate controlled environment. Believe it or not, it doesn't bother my wife at all. She likes them! Thanks, I appreciate it. I do have a few old engines, and it seems like every time I turn my back, they multiply like rabbits! Thanks for the kind words Andy. Thanks Richard, I take that as a great compliment coming from someone who does the caliber of work that you do. I've spent alot of time drooling over your C-120! Thanks You. Thanks for the encouraging post. You guys sure know how to make a guy feel at home. Matt

    My Old Briggs Engines

That Gentleman, is a pictorial record of B&S Engines unlikely to be found anywhere else. They are truly superb 'Works of Art' in their own right. I know who to ask for guidance when I'm lucky enough to stumble over an old 'Briggs'. Thanks Matt, I'm sure people will endorse the fact they just had to be on here.

    My Old Briggs Engines

And we continue again. Pics 1-4 are of a 48 model N, with a mechanical governor, which is unusual. Most all Model N engines were equipped with an air vain governor. This engine was originally on a David Bradley walk behind garden tractor, and is also equipped with the aluminum sheet metal. Pics 5-7 are a Briggs NP. The NP is different from a regular Model N, because it has a bearing, rather than a bushing on the PTO side of the crankshaft, and it also has mounting holes to bolt equipment directly to the engine. Pics 8-11 are a 52 NPR6. It has the 6:1 gear reduction, and is a very late production model N. The model N line of engine ended in early 53, and they only made just a very few in 53. Pics 12-14 are of a 52 Briggs Model 8 that I restored, and put in my son Nathans mini bike. He loves it! I guess I'm going to have to become a supporter, as I managed to max out my allowed MB's of pictures in one thread! Wow.

    GUTBROD

The following helpful information is from the Gutbrod owners site http://www.gutbrod.co/ Gutbrod was a German company. It was based in Germany. They did things in German. Most of their documents are in German. If you don’t speak German there are a few hints on how to get on with your Gutbrod click here. They do go on to offer Betriebsanleitung = Operator’s Handbook Repapaturanleitung = Workshop Manual Ersatzteilliste = Parts List Gang = Gear | Getriebe = Gearbox Wartung = Maintenance | Dichtung = Gasket Zapfwelle = Power Take Off (PTO) Hinterachse = Back axle | Bremsen = Brakes Traktor = work it out I'm sure most Gutbrod owners are aware of the site but if not it's worth a visit (don't mention the war) and looks like it could grow into a useful reference point. The biggest Wheel Horse tractor, the D-250, was in fact a rebadged Gutbrod. Andy

    Imported from United States

Importing is quite easy as i have a young lady that takes care of everything for me . She arranges to have it picked up in US & it is delivered to my door as you see in the above pics . when it arrives she just sends me an invoice for payment . I have imported 5 tractors now including the RS83 Rideawy senior below. It can work out a little expensive to do but as i am not in the hobby for the money it didnt really matter to me , besides i am sure they will go up in value as time goes on , as it stands at the moment i think i would get my money back if i were to sell them but i dont think i would make a profit by doing it .well not for a couple of years , but then who knows OMG Tom you sold your suburban , how did you manage to tear your hands away from that . Our good buddy Richard would have had that from you . Hope you got a good price for it .
