    Ransom dozer/digger.

Had a day out with the Digger today in snow plough mode, worked well with plenty of grunt but ideally the hydraulic ram for the dozer could do with a float position. The ram is double acting so stays where you put it instead of following the ground contours. Gave the old Whitlock an outing to blow the dust off.

    Project "Why Not"

Thanks Charlie, t will take a while yet until it's finished.. But it will be worth the wait A bit more progress today with one of the front wheels almost finished.. Two new wheel centers, can you spot which one is finished? It slots into the wheel like so from the inside. And looks like this from the outside.. A close up for you.. I couldn't be happier with the fit I need to grind a V shape into the two parts of the wheel to give me something to fill full of weld.. Once the weld is cleaned back you won't know it's not original.. Until you look at the inside of course The wheel is a nice tight fit on the wheel hub.. I have also been thinking about the front brakes.. There is just enough room to get a Kwakasaki Gpz 305 caliper and a small brake disc inside the wheel, though I have a feeling I might need to make my own brake discs!! Has anyone ever tried it and did they work?

Chores become easier when you can tinker with your toys at the same time. Need a tow behind gritter for it now. Even more brownie points because Janet's car was snowed in and now she can drive it out thanks to the snow plough. She says I should have got one years ago.! I did not tell her I had all the bits for years.

Had a run up to expeatfarmers today, to have a look at his latest toy he's been working on. Still work to be done hydraulic wise but runs nice.

I can only echo what has already been said, a great forum with lots of information and members who are more than willing to help. I am sure there will be many more years to come and I look forward to watching MOM grow. Tom

It's a good forum and very enjoyable cyber company. It would be good to have a MOM meet annually where we can all meet up with our machines. Perhaps something to think about for 2016?

    JCB Beaver Hydraulic Power Pack.

Today I managed to remove the hydraulic pump, this in turn has allowed access to the drive cog and cooling fan which both have been soaked in plenty of freeing oil, in readiness to try and get them to come off the crankshaft. As the pump was filthy even though it was below freezing in my yard I gave it a quick pressure wash.
