Got the chance mid week to grow the collection. Cue a day off work and 500miles in a day... Got stopped twice by the dibble and had a hellish drive getting home at 3 in the morning. I think it was worth it, but still recovering from the drive, 2 hour load up and the fact I spent a lot of money. Ewan has been sorting stuff, I haven't really had time. Here's a PIC the day after. And shortly after we reduced the pile. Theres even more goodies to unload and sort through... -

A friends Lister domestic water pump
Ian and 2 others reacted to the showman for a post in a topic
A friend of mine bought a Lister water pump from Johns place a few weeks ago and since then its had new bearings , springs and gaskets. He came round today and wanted a water tank and some pipes made up. Over the last few weeks I've been playing with a chicken plucking machine and i had a spare tank which is from a drinks vending machine made of stainless steel ( also from Johns). Out came the box of pipe fittings and pipe threading tool, with the help of the power hacksaw ( also from Johns ) we fabricated it all together. Here's a couple of photos, hope you like -

The Kingsfold Rally CANCELLED
diggerjames reacted to the showman for a post in a topic
We all go to a lot of trouble and expense to do these shows, i run the Horticultural section at this show and spend 4 days there as well as taking extra tea and coffee. We're all disappointed after all the preparation to get ready but we can't odds the weather, i think we've been lucky this year I've done about 20 shows this year and this is the first one that's been cancelled completely. We've had rain at 2 or 3 but only had to be towed out once which i think is good going considering our climate -
1 pointFighting fit, Ian. Fighting for breath and fit to drop. And those photo's don't really do justice to the tree sizes.

Battery Charger-Maintainer
Triumph66 reacted to stevasaurus for a post in a topic
This is a product review. I recently was looking for a trickle charger that had a maintain function and found this. Note that I am not endorsing this manufacturer. This is made by Schmacher Eletcronics., it is a 1.6 Amp trickle charger with a maintain function. We all have small batteries for our garden tractors, motorcycles, trolling motors, depth finders, etc. and they (for the most part) last about 4 years. A charged battery lasts longer and I have been able to get 5/6 years out of some of my garden tractor batteries...so far. With this product, it charges the battery until it is charged and then goes into a maintain function that keeps the battery topped up...no over charge. The price was about $18 at Farm & Fleet. It comes with a plug at one end that will either plug into a set of aligator clips, or plug into a plug that you can attach to the terminals of your battery. It has 3 led lights on the base...1) red for power...2) yellow for charging...3) green when it is fully charged and on maintain. I've had a couple of cheaper devices that only maintain the charge that is there, and I have had a one of the three that I have stop working...I am hoping that a few more bucks pays off. I will let you know.
