    RC Truck

Just finished this for a local haulage company. Its a Tamiya 1:14 scale Volvo tractor unit, which has a 3 speed gearbox and electric motor and a scratch built trailer. Total length, 4 feet.

    New Toy Gutbrod Rotovator

I Have received today my new toy from Germany . A rotovator for my Gutbrod 1032 . This was all due to a very helpful MOM member John, without whom this would not of been possible. Off the pallet and straight onto the tractor then try and find a dry bit of ground to give it a try. Great bit of kit, No noises and very sound condition. This was being drven in low gear but no reduction hubs. Still looking for them. I will upload a bit of video when I can. (this is my son driving not me) When will it stop raining????

    Been having a tidy up.

Bit more reorganisation done yesterday afternoon and this morning. Before. During. After. Blast cabinet is not staying there, but at least I can get at it if needed.

    Cub Cadet 70 restoration

Long overdue update but here are some photos of what I have been up to. Here is one of the rear rims which is in a really bad state, it's nearly rusted through in places and the centres are really bent but I've done my best to straighten them out. One of the spot welds had expanded with the rust so I used a dremel to try and grind as much out as I could and then we filled it with weld. In the meantime I'm looking for a set of 6 inch rims that are in a better condition if any one has any? The transmission and chassis had their final coat of undercoat and are ready to paint with yellow. One of the track rod ends was rusted on and even with some heat it just snapped the threads off so my dad made this nifty repair. I've now sandblasted some more bits and they have been primered. I got some new bearings and reassembled the starter generator which is now nice and quiet. The rims have been painted with IH white and then the tyres are being fit this morning, with a bit of hope the weather will stay dry and I can paint the rest of the rims this weekend.

    New Toy Gutbrod Rotovator

Ground is water loged everywhere but she had to be tryed on this little bit of mud. We did have a small go direct digging on grass and I was very impressed . It is not set very deep in the pictures but will post some pictures when we have a go in more appoprate conditions. Oh and 16hp seems to be tolaly ace with direct digging in wet ground and no reduction hubs

    Been a busy Bolens Week......

Well it been a busy week with one thing or another. First I picked up the Bolens H16 in Cornwall, then on Thursday I picked up a Wisconsin engine for Chris in Dorset and then today I picked up a Bolens 600 with implements in Devon. Absolutely shattered with all this travelling coupled with holding down my work load and balancing time with the family. Now relaxing with a glass of red wine or two. i was was alerted to its existence thanks to Nick, aka wurzel. Chris also texted me enquiring whereabouts was Tiverton. I replied it was a 40 minutes run from me. A deal was worked out between Chris and I. I won the auction after some buttock clenching moments at the end. The deal is that Chris will have the 600 whilst I have the attachments comprising of Brinly plough with sleeve hitch, tiller and cultivator. The 600 been repowered with a Honda but unfortunately the bonnet been hacked on one side to shoe horn the engine in ( or rather dumped in there). It's a great little beast with character. 600 attachments and fittings are as rare as hen's teeth which is why I went for it. My plan is to clean the plough and treat it with Owatrol and the actual moldboard will be cleaned up and oiled to reduce rusting. A good week Bolens wise but back to normality on Monday with up the usual routine.

Good luck and enjoy yourself. If anyone laughs at you, ignore them. It'll just be ignorance.

Convert the lift to a solid bar, Koen. That's what Mark and Ewan did to Ewans Wheel Horse. I've done the same with the Black Horse. No more cable problems.

Nice buy, I saw that on the bay and wondered if it was a brinly plough, wish it would have been closer to us I'd have been tempted.

You have done a nice job Chris and I love that number plate on your WH. My brother had a similar number plate beginning with BAP on his Series Ii Land Rover back in the 80s. I think it's a Sussex registered one.

    New Toy Gutbrod Rotovator

Hi The Gutbrod and rotovator is a nice piece of kit If you are rotovatoring in earnest make a shallow pass then I usually rotovate half the width this is easier on the clutch until you get a set of hubs all the best

    1973 Raider 12

Got the rims back from the blasters today, much easier than trying to clean them up with sand paper and only cost £20. A quick dust down, knock a couple of dents out of the edge of the rim and a spot of primer to stop any rust from appearing. If it stops raining i might even get a coat or two of paint on them over the weekend.
