Downsizing in Metalwork
Ian and 6 others reacted to Anglo Traction for a post in a topic
Looking to finish this 'Mothballed' 1 inch Scale design TE project while I still only need the occasional use of a weak Magnifying Glass !., so it's top of the jobs list now. I've been recently making loads of small Nuts and Bolts for parts that were temporarily fitted. Smallest size is 0.0669" (1.62mm) AF Steel hexagon rod with 12BA thread. The metal plate in the Pic is one of 3 Oil Lamp brackets that require these small bolts- -

Not a great deal to report, lot's of painted parts have been bolted back on... The valve covers were swapped for the one off my spare CX engine as furry is easier to clean... Lot's of polishing later... More Ford Cardinal red paint has been ordered, so next week the body panels get the treatment -

Cub Cadet 70 restoration
Alan and one other reacted to Cub Cadet for a post in a topic
A little bit more done last weekend, here are some photos. Thanks to my grandad and uncle all of my tyres have now been fitted, I bought some tri ribs for the front as the old tyres were in a really bad state. I masked the wheels off and then painted them all, so far they have had two coats and I'm hoping to get a third and final on today. I've started painting parts in yellow now, ignore how neon the yellow looks it's only the first coat. I have now put a grease nipple in the front axle so hopefully it should never seize up again. I have now bolted the chassis and the gearbox together so that they can be painted together. -
1 pointhi, iv bought a wheel horse b111 from a friend who bought it to restore and hasnt had the time to sort it.....after a bit of messing about iv got the old girl running and cutting grass BUT there is no 1st gear and reverse works when it feels like it and never when you really need it....iv taken the gear stick out and looked for excessive wear on the gear stick and it looks ok??? the gearbox is a 6 speed..has anyone a spare i can buy or even a complete tractor? many thanks warwick

New Toys Picked Up Today
diggerjames reacted to Charlie Smith for a post in a topic
Well today I picked up my new toy(s) to keep my busy this year. As most of you know I've wanted a bigger scale tractor for a while now and the right opportunity came along last week. I will still be exhibiting my smaller rides on's at many shows and meets along with you lot but I now have something different to play with as well!.... can never have enough! An old boy was selling his 1950 Ferguson TEA-20 tractor so I went and had a look, Its far from mint, but it starts, drives and all hydraulics work perfectly (the brake are a bit sharp too ) It needs a restoration over the summer and thankfully new parts are readily available and at a quite cheap cost as well. I plan on replacing all the taps, caps, hoses, nuts, bolts, seat cushion and steering wheel etc, along with all new oils and filters and of course give it a good all round service. I haven't done much to it today in fact nothing at all, only check the oils and then go for a quick play over the back fields however all the name plates have been painted over out of curiosity I sat and scratched one off and it revealed a plate that read. SUSSEX TRACTOR LTD Ferguson Main Dealers 33 THE HIGH STREET, UCKFIELD so it turns out it started its life not very far from me at all. I was very happy with the deal we had come up with and thought It cant get much better.... but then it did, the old boy was pleased I am going to restore it and show it again, after a chat he chucked in 2 Lister D engines with loads of spares, a water pump for the engines and some sort of root cutter. I already have one of these Lister D type engines so that now makes 3 of them Here is some pictures, I hope to keep you all updated as and when I do bits and bobs to the machines! -

1 pointI'm new to this site and thought you guys might like to see my collection so far! Ive got two Mk 3 Trojan Toraktors and a field rider. The field rider is similar to a Mk 4 trojan but slightly better made Id say. It has a little Albion gearbox, wheel weights etc. no one seems to know much about it! All I know is it was produced near to where the Trojans were! It's meant to be the only one left!! It is the only one I've ever seen but there may be more out there!!! If anyone has any information that would be great! I also have a little tipping trailer and a small set of disc harrows! The disc harrows don't look a homemade jobby but if they are then they are very good! Again I know nothing about these!! Let me know what you think!!
