    Ride on roller project

This old roller had been parked in our garden for a few years, we used it with a mates Allis Simplicity ride on mower to level the ground for the aviary bird pens when we moved in to the house in 2004. Since then it has sat in the garden a bit unloved so with the increased interest in working/playing events and the need to have something to put behind the Cub Cadets I asked Mr Showman nicely if he could modify it for me, add a tow bar and remove the unwanted parts of the frame. Today we popped down to see Chris with the roller and he kindly fired up the saw and the welder and did the modifications. It was then transported back home and painted, as a tribute and a thank you to Mr Showman there was only one colour it could be...

Got my stunt drive hard at work leveling out spoil over some virgin ground which were old ruts . Very hard clay ground but the machine coped well. The reduction hubs make such a difference . Thanks John

I wish you luck if you finding any males to fit these There was some talk on another forum I go on & the answer was rare as unless you have the attachments with them fitted I also would like to find some as would be handy to make some hydraulic attachments May be take the females to hydraulic company & see what they have to say

I had some good use out of the blade yesterday, a friend of mine had some dumped soil at the top of his garden which had compacted, it had been spread prviously but there were great humps and tumps everywhere. First off we rotovated it to loosen and then bladed and back bladed and ended up with a level area that was then raked by the Horse then seeded. While we were there he asked if the horse may be able to level off a couple of tons of road planings in his yard, I was dubious as to whether the machine could tackle this but was soon reminded of the "never underestimate a Wheelhorse" slogan. What a great piece of kit. I never took any photos of work in progress but got a lovely shot of my boy proudly trundling back to load on to the trailer.

Yesterday I collected a front blade/snow plough and a lawn sweeper from a fellow forum member. This morning as it was very wet here I took the opportunity to have a go at fitting the blade, all went well other than a bit of head scratching when I realised the adjusting arm wouldn't fit as it was fouling on the brake pedal. After a short while I realised if I took off the rod guide eyelet and release lever and turned the entire arm so that the dog leg is facing inward (the opposite to how it was) it would fit perfectly, it does. One pin was missing for the lift but luckily I found one of the correct diameter in my box of bits, it just had to be cut to length and drilled for the R pin. Off I went and pushed up the rather large compost heap and was very pleased with the performance. I also assembled the lawn sweep and had a quick play, it works fine but the height adjustment kept jumping out, once again the box of bits was out, and stronger spring fitted and all is well. I also received on Friday my freshly fabricated Clevis hitch which my Uncle started to copy from his original about five years ago! He's made a nice job of it and after a few adjustments to my Mouldbord Plough I was running in some half respectable furrows, I'm even considering entering my local clubs Ploughing match later this year.

I'm at the Basil Faulty stage now and beating it with a branch I put the lawn mower plug in the rotovator, after mowing the lawn and nothing. I put the plug from the rotovator in the mower and it started first time. What next. I wonder if its spark isn't strong enough. although it gives me a belt when I hold the end of the cable and plug at the same time. Jonnym

    1950 Ferguson TEA-20

I picked up this Ferguson TEA-20 the other day along with a few other goodies, (posted on here somewhere) I haven't managed to found much out about the tractor as of yet, only that it was sold new local to me, (SUSSEX TRACTORS LTD, 33 THE HIGH STREET UCKFIELD) I received the log book the other day and I am the 6th owner from new, the old boy I brought it from had owned it since January 1999. Ill keep this thread going with the stages from the restoration, I started on it this week and have replaced the head gasket along with all the other top gaskets (Manifolds, Thermostat, Rocker Cover etc) The head gasket was leaking quite badly and when I removed the head it was clear why... none of the other gaskets needed replacing but seeing it come in a kit with all the new top end gaskets I replaced them whilst I was there... I finally got it back together this afternoon and took it for a nice drive this evening, no leaks from any of the gaskets! Next on my list is to replace all the filters and change the engine oil, and then change the transmission/hydraulics oil, once I've done that I will then be ordering lots of new bits and start to get it ready for painting and refitting all new shiny bits once its painted up! I'll keep you updated! The little man got a bit excited when he knew he was going out on 'fergie' Oh and he tried telling me how to fix it with his screwdriver!
