    Marriage of two machines!

CAN YOU TELL WHAT IT IS YET!! Who can recognise the parts ?? After I changed the engine on my Gutbrod 1032 I had a very heavy mower deck. I also had a small Murrey ride on with no deck. I have several areas of grass which are right upto very large hedges so it has alot of suckers growing underneath. I made this trailed mower to get under the hedge and cope with the brush without getting scratched when mowing. it can be towed directly behind a machine or to either side. It is the hole Gutbrod deck and the rear chassis mounting the engine from the Murry. Hight adjustable via old jocky wheel and solid rear tyres. It proves to be that successful I had to put flaps at the rear as it was throwing sticks 20ft out the back.

    My Land Rover 90

Last October I bought a 1984 Land Rover 90 from a friend of the family. It has been used on his farm for well over 20 years, is totally original and had been sitting in a barn unused for over a year. I have not had much workshop time over the last year so it has taken a while to do the chassis welding and sort the other issues. Can't be too many original 90's left. On Friday I put it in for an MOT and it passed with no advisories For some reason the MOT man liked my work and asked if I wanted a job. Not for me, but good to receive the complement and good that he is happy. I had to take some pictures for the insurance company and someone jumped in while I was taking the other pictures. For some reason Joseph thinks the 90 is his and is asking all sorts of questions about running cost. It is his birthday tomorrow so while he thinks it is already his, he will not be disappointed to not have it as a present. Iain

    Cool Video

It has been 95 degrees and above for a long time here, humidity approaching 70 percent at times, the lawn is as green as a Leprechauns butt, and I'm caught up on school work, so here is a Cool Video.

Bit risky showing it off on MoM Iain. The Showman will want it as it's his favourite colour. A little brother for his Sprinter.

    Bolens 1050

I collected the 1050 from the lock up this morning and bought it back to my house where I gave it a a quick wash to get rid of the grime. I drained the transmission oil and it wasn't as bad as I thought. After a an hour, I used my air line to blow out any excess oil into the container. It was replaced with new oil. I think the previous owner, a mechanic, serviced it from time to time. I emptied the fuel tank of cider vinegar and was impressed with how clean the inside of the tank was. I rinsed it out with cold water and then added carbonate of soda to neutralise the acids. I also rinsed the tank with petrol for good measure. The tank was installed with a new fuel line. I poured in fresh petrol and cleaned the spark plug and ensure everything was in place, I turned the key. Unfortunately, the battery was weak even though the engine turned over slowly. I am now charging the battery over night and hopefully I can fire up the engine to warm her up in order to drain the engine oil.

I saw these listed on our local craigslist from 125-400. They vary in widths from 36" to almost 60". I may get one to aerate the lawn and kill some moles

RED, white. WHITE, red. Sounds like you are just trying to confuse Joseph. Paint it green to match his overalls.

    My Land Rover 90

That's a very tidy and straight Landy Joseph! Wish my Dad bought me a landy when I was your age...... I think Alan's right about the colour and the Showman's love of the RED, I think Bolens White would be more appropriate Iain.

I agree with Chris. I like the way it been put together; it almost look like a purpose made manufactured implement.

Looks like you will soon have it running great. That really is a tidy 1050 I am looking forward to seeing some of your tractors when I pop down for a visit, even though it will be a six hour drive each way. Iain
