    Bolens 1476 Muffler rehab

The first picture is what I started with. I bought a International Cub tractor muffler (IH-1, part # 351436R92) for 29.00 and fabricated my own mounts, I added a 1/4" hard rubber between washers to create a dampening effect to reduce vibration. I'll order a chrome slotted heat shield for it next week that will cover the body.

    Always good to get help

Pulled up the floor in the downstairs loo today. Needed some help.... Finn to the rescue, any excuse to hook up a trailer. He's really good at reversing it too.

Spent the weekend at Ardingly, heavy rain on Saturday but quite busy and Sunday was bright and sunny. A good selection in the vintage section so here's a few photos

Quite a few versions around Chris. Mine is about 4 years old now. Still available and now with 15metres of cable. Usual disclaimer, but here is a -LINK- to an example. I'm sure you're familiar with the Kohlers in general. Great to work on and parts available. I had no option for the level of work I had to do on this one, as I was sold a Dud- . It was well worth the time and money and the re-bore, re-grind was only £67 at the time and it was a quality job/service. Finished the jobs on this engine now. Drain/Priming additions saved a lot of time cranking etc and fired up in a few seconds of cranking Planning a few (bolt-on) mods to the Clutch system on both Tractors next-

Very tidy job on the Muffler. Of course you do realise that putting a new Chrome Shield on it will most likely force you to consider refurbishing the Whole Tractor !

    Mayfield scissor cutter

Hi peeps, I am surprised to see that I didn't get round to posting about my bargain Mayfield last year, I used it once at work to put the glades to bed for the winter. I gave it a good sorting out and resharpen during the quiet seasons. Last Wednesday it was cranked up once more to cut the glades again. It is doing a sterling job. There do seem to be a couple of issues though.... First is one of my volunteers was starting it with the handle and the shaft snapped off like a carrot! Lucky I can still use a cord. The other one is I noticed that when the sun back lit it that there is quite a smoke haze from the engine breather, is this likely to be worn rings? Anyway bottom line I am really pleased with the machine, it does the job I got it for and my volunteers love it!.
