Made up another exhaust stack for the C-125 this morning. The one on was an old BSA motorcycle silencer. The outlet pipe was rather holey, with a cut up tin can wrapped round and held by jubilee clips. So cut off the bad bit off the BSA one and the tail end off a tractor one. The result.

The C-121, Black Horse, started to refuse to run right after standing all night in the cold at the HVC rally. Would only run on half choke. Managed to get it to where it was on display with it's stable mates. When the rally ended and I eventually found the time to load up, it refused to start at all. With some help it was pushed up onto the trailer. Back home and rolled off and put away. The following morning I decided to investigate, as I wasn't due back at the rally site till after lunch, (1 day rally. 5 days work.) to collect the cattle trailer loaded with rally equipment., to take back to the farm. Good spark from the plug but plug dry. Disconnected pump from carb and a good flow through the pump. Removing float bowl from carb revealed bits of black dirt in there. So off with carb and cleaned out the jets. In line filter look clean so I drained the fuel tank. Some dirt was evident in the fuel, so I removed the tap. I then poured fuel into the tank to flush it out. After putting everything back together, the engine fired up straight away. I then tuned the carb and now he Black Horse runs as normal. I suspect the bouncing of the trailer disturb some bits of dirt. Hopefully all will be back to normal, but if it happens again I will take the tank out for a thorough clean and also replace the fuel lines in case the are starting to deteriorate inside

Despite the bitterly cold wind on Saturday, we got things set up. Sunday was another early morning. 5am again ready to man the main gate. Relived a 8am to start booking in the cars. Some of them caused problems because they wouldn't go and park up in their designated areas. Caused problems for the judges and extra work for me as I had to accompany the judges. Sorry to say I took no photo's of any cars as they thoroughly hacked me off. Sunday was a better day, though cold first thing, there was no wind. Also I did find some time to take some photo's. So with no further todo here they are. First off the tractors. Especially three for Jeff. (ACman) This one was in the auction. I don't know what it went for. Two more AC's that were exhibits. Some of the rest. I could do with this roller for the green and verges I look after. Some garden tractors. Some horticultural equipment. Some stationary engines. Traction engines large and small. Some wagons. Some motorcycles. A horse of a different colour. And finally a hat trick. From left to right. Second, first and third.

I'd just make another puller, but stronger than the previous ones. Did you use square section bar?

That's one beautiful looking piece of machinery. Here's hoping you can get it running, then all you'll need is a period mower to push.

A photo of the flywheel would help, then we might come up with some ideas.

I'd have cut it down for free and taken it away. Interesting to see how he cut through the trunk. We cut out a gob (notch) on the side we want the tree to fall, then cut across the back.

On closer inspection, those bullocks are heifers.

The C-125 got highjacked today. First by Mathew, number four grandson, enjoying his first time at tractor driving. Then his sister, Ashleigh. Again for the first time. Being a typical girl, more interested in who's watching, than looking where she's going. After a rebuke from grandad to pay attention.

I wasn't to happy with the hitch so knocked up a mk2 version yesterday morning.

Some signs of spring. Mum and her four surviving ducklings. Crows, magpies or cats put paid to the other two. The proud dad/dads. The duck and the two drakes have returned for the last few years. Moorhen sitting on eight eggs. We'll see how many survive the aforementioned crows etc. These fine bullocks arrived in the field opposite on Wednesday.

Can't say why it's died, but even tree's have a life span. Some more than others. I'd cut it down.

Made a hitch for the Brinly yesterday. First photo is of some bits. The second one is of it trial mounted. This afternoon I've been setting things up and hoping to go up to the farm with it. Give it a try out and see how it performs.

Look up annealing copper on google. Might be worth doing.
