  1. Very nice work Harry and typical Devonian soil too. Did you do this yesterday before the rain came n? It was pretty wet around Newton Abbot this morning.
  2. That's looking darn cool James. Actually the tyres set it off very nicely.
  3. Yes I seen those in Hastings Old Town/ Rockanore. Still earning thier keep.
  4. Looks great. Where was the pedal car Museum in Sussex?
  5. Or he forgot to take the lens cap off
  6. How many have you got confirmed, coming to RPT Chris? I will be there as a visitor though on the Sunday BUT I will be an exhibitor next year with a Bolens or two.
  7. I love the details of your workmanship in the photo. I bet it will be better in the daylight.
  8. Fantastic haul Charlie and just love that the Grey Fergie is local too.
  9. You want to hear what my wife say! Swear like a trooper she does!
  10. My advice is never tell your Better Half it true value otherwise it will be gore before you know it!
  11. That is a nice looking tractor and always cool to see something different. Chris will be on here shortly I would think.
  12. I like those rear tyres; what makes are those?
  13. Put your request in the Wanted Section of the forum. Always good old to see something in use earning its keep.
  14. Look like a good purchase and I am sure with fresh fuel and a service it will run pretty well engine wise.
  15. Ewan, you are really cracking on a pace with the International Cub Cadet. Look forward to the latest update
  16. I think the 600 was originally powered by a B&S ? So not sure how easy/hard that would be to find. It's a great little tractor too and I think anew peice of metal could be frabicated and welded in place to return the shape of the bonnet. I love the style of the round hood Bolens. I will have a look at your Wisconsin this week to see if there is a pulley on it. Cheers.
  17. That is what I am thinking about the weights too. Would a WH plough or Brinly plough be more suitable as these have been designed for garden tractors? Still, you have done a good job today ploughing and no doubt you will have learnt a lot as well.
  18. Thanks Iain; it been an enjoyable week and I am glad to return the favour to Chris. I now need to spend a bit of time on the H16 to assess it.
  19. Well done Chris; you have done yourself proud. Looks a really good day out. Would rear wheel weights be of help do you think? Also what plough are you using?
  20. Well it been a busy week with one thing or another. First I picked up the Bolens H16 in Cornwall, then on Thursday I picked up a Wisconsin engine for Chris in Dorset and then today I picked up a Bolens 600 with implements in Devon. Absolutely shattered with all this travelling coupled with holding down my work load and balancing time with the family. Now relaxing with a glass of red wine or two. i was was alerted to its existence thanks to Nick, aka wurzel. Chris also texted me enquiring whereabouts was Tiverton. I replied it was a 40 minutes run from me. A deal was worked out between Chris and I. I won the auction after some buttock clenching moments at the end. The deal is that Chris will have the 600 whilst I have the attachments comprising of Brinly plough with sleeve hitch, tiller and cultivator. The 600 been repowered with a Honda but unfortunately the bonnet been hacked on one side to shoe horn the engine in ( or rather dumped in there). It's a great little beast with character. 600 attachments and fittings are as rare as hen's teeth which is why I went for it. My plan is to clean the plough and treat it with Owatrol and the actual moldboard will be cleaned up and oiled to reduce rusting. A good week Bolens wise but back to normality on Monday with up the usual routine.
  21. You have done a nice job Chris and I love that number plate on your WH. My brother had a similar number plate beginning with BAP on his Series Ii Land Rover back in the 80s. I think it's a Sussex registered one.
  22. That's a proper rotovator for a proper garden tractor. I am very impressed with the quality of Gutbrod tractors. Maybe one day I will get one?
  23. I was tempted to buy a Mayfield scythe mower near me but resisted the temptation. I think it would be too bulky for what I would need it for unfortunately.
