    BOLENS RIDEAMATIC

3m clean and strip disks are the best product to use to remove the red paint, however it will be very time consuming. Many years ago I used these disks to remove a word that was hand painted on the door of someone's car which suggested his sexual preference was for working alone. It work well although it took a long time and a steady hand (no pun intended) and was better than repainting the panel on a car which had a difficult colour to match. Iain
  2. Well done Chris for making this happen. I know it took an incredible amount of effort but worth it. It looks so much better in your pictures than the sale advert. I can't imagine another Bolens backhoe exists in the UK and I believe they are really rare in the US too. I am really looking forward to seeing this project progress.

    Bolens G14

Thanks for the information OB, very interesting. A completely new PTO has been made for the G14 with the shaft being the only part that has been reused. The seller has the original PTO case but no belt guard.

    Bolens G14

I have just bought another Bolens which I plan to collect over the weekend. I not sure how it happened really as I was not planning to buy any more tractors. It must be a very late G14 as it has a number of differences to my other G14's. It is in very good condition although it does require some work. It comes complete with a 42 inch cutting deck which is not in the greatest condition. The previous owner has done a very interesting modification to the PTO which overcomes some of the issues with rebuilding the original. It has has a home made tow hitch which is very similar to something I was thinking of making to tow my Ifor. Pictures to follow when I collect it. Iain

    BOLENS RIDEAMATIC

Great tractor Andrew, I love it. The decals on the side of the hood have coloured letters on a transparent background. It looks like they masked around the complete decal before painting so you can see the original colour around the letters. I can't tell from the pictures if that is gold or cream but that is probably my eyesight. Looks like it has all the belt guards and it is electric start too. Does not get any better. I love the deck and it looks easy to copy. Fantastic addition to your fleet although I think it would be better in my collection It does not look out of place in red, in fact it looks like the tractor that WH should have make Iain
  6. Some people do not seem at all concerned with putting a scary number to some parts or jobs and then just wait to see what happens.
  7. Are you planning to bore the cylinder or stick with standard? I would be very interested to understand what you decided to to do any the reasons (I have a couple of Kohler's waiting for the same work). Thanks Iain
  8. Can't think of anything else to add about the dogs reproductive parts however it really does look great. Iain
  9. Tom, I got my Brinly plough out of storage and into the workshop where I had some light, then attempted to take a picture highlighting the height of the sleeve hitch attachment. I think the plough need a bit of a clean before trying to use it. Iain
  10. Tom, It looks great and the right colour for the tractor. I would have thought it would have been better to install a sleeve hitch rather than a slot hitch as sleeve hitch attachments seem to be a bit easier to find. Iain
  11. Tom, I can measure mine or you can come and give it a look or even borrow it to help you make an adapter. Iain
  12. It would be good to meet up if you are visiting the area. We are not all carrot crunchers with webbed feet, well at least Tom isn't I am really surprised about the amount of interest this change of ownership has created. It was good watching the posts with everyone guessing the new owner. I will post more pictures once it is home. Iain
  13. Tom, I had another look at your attachments. It looks like it would be very easy to make a sleeve hitch adaptor to get that plough to fit a Wheelhorse. The plough looks very similar to a Brinly. Iain
  14. About 30 miles for me too but following a different route. Iain
  15. Thanks Tom. I will give you a shout when it's home so you can give it a look. Iain
  16. It will look good in the middle of a sea of white tractors. A few red ones hiding in the background too. Thanks. I am very excited about it
  17. Yes it's true I am very grateful to Chris for giving me the opportunity. A good day for Norfolk because Tom has been collecting some toys too. It won't be coming home yet and will need to wait until Chris has completed the logistics for his latest project. Iain
  18. Great work. I love the way you are working around the problems. I am surprised you are getting anything done with all that coffee and tea making You may need to get the GT14 out to help Tesco deliver your tea.
  19. George, looks like a fun day. When you said that your new plough did not have enough dig, is this the depth the plough goes into the ground? Thanks Iain
  20. Your WH looks great and I bet the breakfast was not bad either, sounds like a good day
  21. Yeh agreed, it looks the nuts.
  22. Far too pink for me but my daughter likes it. I hope she does NOT want me to paint one of my tractors this colour.
  23. Looking great. You are making fast progress on this project.
