4x4forks got a reaction from HeadExam in Poor Starting. Give up and start again
Block is back with new liners . Apparently it took all a 10 ton press could do with a hot block and frozen liners. once in then machined to correct size for standard rings. Quick coat of fresh paint and now start to replace all bearings.

Home now from the last show for us for 2018,
We took some Ransomes machines to support our mates running the themed Horticultural section and a couple of machines
for the VHGMC stand
The themed display is for Wheelhorse next year so perhaps some of you may be tempted ?
We will hopefully be taking 3...
Here's some photos from the 2018 show...

4x4forks got a reaction from WestwoodGazelle in Poor Starting. Give up and start again
The Kubota B6100 Story go's on. The three cylinder D650 engine has had a few issues in this tractor but once it gets running it was fine and had loads of power. Howevery starting has been an issue loads of smoke and loads of heat plugs. I overhauled the diesel injectors and this had no improvement. I relented and purchased a diesel compression tester. At very best i was getting around 220psi on the best cylinder. The book states it should be up around 400 to 460 psi. OPPS !!
After researching the costs I could purchase the parts from ether Kubota or a chines copy company. I was advised to go genuine.
I turns out that I have a very early engine 000236. As the bits are on order the clean up begins.
I am going to have new liners pressed in and all new bearings ,seals and gaskets.
Will update as the build go's on

4x4forks reacted to Stormin in Wheel Horse Lawn Sweeper.
The rear castor's plastic rollers were starting to show their age. So I decided to make two new ones. A nice piece of oak was cadged of a joiner friend and rollers turned up in the lathe.
I think they should last a while.

4x4forks reacted to Westie1 in Homemade WH deck
So I've just picked up this c141 and it has a deck with it which appears home made. It weighs a ton and looks very well built.
Thought it may be of interest to see before it goes on eBay after a wire brushing.

4x4forks reacted to Westie1 in Rotavator and snow plough help
Hi, I fancy a snow plough and rotavator for my c165 and these have popped up.
Problem is the plough is odd (what's it off?) And a bit rough.
The rotavator is missing the belt and pulleys, the idler pullet from the unit its self and the pulley is very small.
What other bits are needed? I have the axle bracket.
Thanks I'm thinking this is just too much effort as it's not exactly cheap either.

4x4forks reacted to Cub Cadet in New Toy MF7E
Was lucky enough to find this gem the other day, picked it up today. Apparently only 750 made. It was made by Moto mower and Massey badged them.
Here are some pics, please let me know if anyone knows anything about them.

4x4forks reacted to Stormin in Slipping belt?
A couple of weeks back, maybe more, it's me age, I replaced the drive belt on my WH C-125. The old girl gets used far more than her stable mates. Mainly mowing duties on the green and verges around my abode.
Yesterday after mowing, I put the lawn sweeper on to tidy up a bit. I say a bit as the rate that the leaves are falling it's darn near impossible to keep things tidy. The corner of the green between the junction of lane and bridleway, is slightly steep and where I usually drive onto the green to start work. As I drove on with the sweeper, the old girl was struggling in 3rd H and half revs. Usually not a problem. Engaged low box and up she went.
My first thought was the drive belt slipping. This morning I decided to investigate. The belt was a tad slack and I noticed the clutch pedal when released, was against the foot plate. So I removed the connecting rod, after removing the near side wheel. The trunnion adjuster was rather tight so needed freeing off. Probably never been touched in 36yrs. Replaced the rod with the trunnion not screwed as far on and the pedal clear of the footplate.
Happy to say success and the old girl climbs the slope with out any todo.

4x4forks reacted to Westie1 in 8 speed wheel horse box help please
So, this seems to be becoming quite a big job this thing!
I have milky (but not brown) gearbox fluid, a bad shift boot that needs replacing, in low ratio it will happily shift 1 way between 2 gears and not the other and I have horizontal movement on the axle on the left hand side.
I think I'm looking at shift boot, seals, bearings and maybe a worn gear from shifting on the move?
It's got the larger axle.
Where can I get these parts in the UK and is it a diy job?
Thanks for any help!

4x4forks got a reaction from HeadExam in Afternoon in the workshop!
I need something to put a load on the engine of the new purchase , Kubota B6100 4x4 and I pulled a failed project from the weeds and had a look.
I had made a plough from a I think , Anzarni plough body to fit my Gutbrod but i could never get it to work .
The Kubota having a true 3 point linkage , was a much better mounting but it had to be made. for the plough.
Its a bit rough and ready at the moment but enough to test and it works well.
Now for some tidying up and a lick of paint. And yes i have replaced the bit dexion . lol
