Need to use some before I can split the rest.

These two weren't much use. Just sat there and watched.

Scratching my arse for some thing to do up the workshop so I will have to start a project out of bits I’ve got laying around, I haven’t a clue what it’s going to be, but these parts will make a start

    Shelving time...

This fold up shelf fits nicely between the bench and lathe bench.

Not quite enough space to get a second one on top!

A bit of marking out and cutting later..

They both now fit and soon got filled up a bit.....   I still need to work out quite where evrything is going!

The last bit of inside cladding fixed in place..

Lathe tool draws naturally next to the lathe.

And the lathe finally on it's bench.

It might not be quite level yet however

Paint cupboard now up on the wall... No more making coffee on it

More shelves ready to be fixed to the wall once it's painted... Which happened today..

And to finish off this update have a comically shaped bench leg

And that is this build thread up to date agin at last other than...

My new tyres arrived yesterday, very pleased with them almost the same size and a third of the price. As the rims are old i put new tubes in them as they were only £6 each.
Now both the boys are on the floor and rolling.

Needed to chop some kindling this morning. Sometime ago I acquired some old telegraph poles. These had been cut up into lengths ready to be made into kindling. Usually I use an axe, but today I had an idea.

This arrived on Saturday, thanks to Paul mackellow for the heads-up.

Also my new tubes for the rear wheels, just waiting for 2 new  tyres to arrive.

Sorting out the front tyres from the back of the shed, I knew these would come in handy one day.
No prizes for guessing where they came from, .
The wheels that i made I decided to put nuts and bolts through them although I welded them it’s just a safety issue, also found some shiny capped nuts to add a bit of bling.

I’ve been hoping for a long time I would find one of these and after months of constant searching I finally hit gold.  Wish it had the cut-away gear box too but I’m thrilled just to have the engine. It needs a recoil spring and pull rope to complete it and of course a thorough cleaning. I’ll have to come up with a cool display stand as well.  It’ll look cool with the recent brochure that also shows this engine.

As  the sun was shining today I thought I’d paint the wheels and seats.
First job was to make a jig to hold the wheels as it’s difficult to hold them up with hooks while painting,
I’m really pleased with them and will leave for a few days to harden before fitting the tyres.

It lives.... I thought the carb was a goner as it had so much black tar inside that I couldn’t get out. Fortunately brother has an ultrasonic cleaning tank.

So far so good! The wheels I bought were fitted with needle roller bearings which I removed as the wheels needed to be fixed to the axle which provides the drive. With a centre diameter of 30mm and an axle diameter of 22mm I had to obtain some tubing to act as a bush. The O/D was just the right size but I had to ream out the I/D to fit over the axle shaft. Holes were then drilled to accept the cotter pins to secure them to the axle. Tomorrow, I’m going to weld the wheels to the tubing and continue finishing the wheelbarrow attachment.

I'm worried about the future of the local engine rally I go to, it was cancelled last year due to the field being flooded, another couple of bad years in a row could finish it off.

Yes a few shows will go, better safe than sorry, although my sympathies are with the organisers, having been involved with a few events over the years its a sickener to see them fall for one reason or another
