    Got myself a Cub Cadet

Mate of mine has had this in his garden for 15 years. He wanted to sell it & thought it was worth a fortune in its current condition. We finaly done a sensible deal we were both happy with & I picked it up today. Its got some wheel weights. It did have a snow plough & deck but they are long gone Needs to go through my loving hands in my workshop. The steering is stuck solid! When that maybe I dont know?

getting close to the end of this project now just a few issues to sort out, its funny how when you start a project like this you have a picture in your head of what it will look like, but as you progress your mind starts to wonder, anyway this is what it looks like, what do you think

    Ploughing and ploughs 2015

Hi all Thanks for comments, will be taking photos next weekend at charity match this will be of benefit to all, meanwhile look in your area there will be tractor ploughing matches, go along and ask questions take photos and build your knowledge,in some areas they hold horticultural matches Find out where. When you set up your Feering poles they must be in line ( photos next weekend}when you set them up then stand at one end look along the line you should only see the one nearest you,you have got it right If you get it wrong do not worry the aim is to get better and have fun Hope this keeps you happy I will be taking plenty of pics next week to show settings required to improve your plough and ploughing Thanks George G Horticultural-Rules-July-2012.doc

    Project "Why Not"

So today I decided I'd have a look at the fender pan and seat mounting... There is only one way to work out where the seat will go.... Yep, that feels about right This is the start of the seat/fender pan mounting frame, I do need to add more but I need the fender pan to fit first so I can work out what's what.. Hhmm... The fender pan needs a bit of work to make it fit.. It need to be wider and the bit the seat bolts onto need to be about 6 inches lower!! Let's tackle the widening bit first.. The original fender pan was very rotten in the middle and at the back, but I kept the "arches" parts should they come in handy one day A 2 1/4 section was sliced from the spares arch and plonked roughly in place.. Due to fender pans having lot's of different curves and contours a few tweaks will be needed A bit of cutting and welding later and the fender pan was wider one side with matching curves up top.. Oo-er missus The front and back don't quite line up, but I can't work that bit out until the center of the fender pan is in place.. You can see how much wider it is compared to the left side. And that Gent's is this build up to date other than....... A video

    Ploughing and ploughs 2015

Hi All Found one pic in my folders of what the plough should look like ,if you do not have this, where it shows the tip on the ground and the heel on the ground with a hollow in-between you will not get what they call suck and the plough will not stay in the ground If the ploughshare is worn and you try to lower the point to get the plough into the ground it will not work This is called dancing on its toes you will never keep your ploughing straight Another tip for the memory bank Thanks George G

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bolens-18082-Rear-PTO-Kit-2000-RPM-Fits-Large-Frames-/331464616789?autorefresh=true&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=X1N8qDmKPSEf2RevC8ZjF9yK7c0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc This is the only rear PTO the will also work whilst the 3-pt hitch is installed. If I decide to put it on the HT20D or HDT1000 I will still have to find the proper propshaft. I can put it on one of my 1886s as it uses the same propshaft as the tiller, which I already have.

Hi all well today has been quite productive I've stripped down the Jacobsen with the help of Nathan and Sam what a sod they are to work on not nice at all but hay ho , the Jacobson has come with lots of usable parts pumps and wheel motors ready for another project ( how many is that Mark ) , so I've had to coo le a drive shaft together and use what I've had , and we have manged to get the engine in which is in and inline but just doesn't seem to sit right in the mountains so I'm gonna re design that but I have had it running and it runs well and every thing seems to work so now that ino it isn't a basket case I'm gonna look at making a longer drive shaft and sitting the engine in further forward , any way pics to follow!

Nigel, It looks fantastic. I just had a quick look back at a picture when you picked it up and the difference is unbelievable. What type of paint did you use?

Lucky. Bet we will never have anything like that in the UK Years ago I knew of an HT20 which had a cab. It was hung up in the shed for years & when the tractor was taken away it ended up in the skip. I know, I saw it in there. If only I had known all these years later I would own an HT20 it would have fitted. That would have been super rare in the UK

Great score! Must be great to have a choice of which large frame to put it on If you want to put it on the HT20D or HDT1000 I would have thought that it would not be too difficult to get the correct length shaft made, assuming you have the ends. It is hard to see how it fits on the tractor from the auction pictures. It would be great if you can post some pictures once you have it on the tractor. Iain

This morning I was asked about the engine. Tonight it has found a new home, where I know it will be cared for and appreciated.
