That's good Chris!. Although I did leave some of it there . I'll probably arrange another visit soon anyway. On the subject of scrapping and salvage, I've now accumulated several bits of Villiers Mk2 (Midget) engines from Donor Machines with some good bits from each. The Sidewheel ATCO mentioned most recently had a seized solid engine and very corroded (on right in Pic), but after pulling the Cylinder, I found a 0.030" oversize Piston. Yep, it has had a re-bore in the past and although the Cylinder was Shot with heavy rust, the Cast Iron Piston cleaned up good, if a little scored. The Bottom end of the Donor 14" ATCO Mower's engine is in very good condition despite being original and 61 years old !(left in pic). Several noticeable differences in Crankcase design between the two- I have one fairly decent spare Cylinder, so my plan is to find someone to re-bore it +0-030". I should then be able to build a very good Engine without too much expense for a future project and will retain all the correct serial/date marks for 1954. ......Just have to suss out what the output end Clutch Housing is sitting on , taper or threaded ?. No Keyway visible . Will have to make a decision soon about refurbishing the Original 'Grass Catcher' that was an optional extra,.... yep even got that as well!.

    Project "Why Not"

That sounds a bit drastic to me Norm Well, I didn't quite make the test drive deadline today, but getting very close.. Due to a measuring problem I had to make another sleeve to join the 2 parts of the prop shaft together... For once I can say the measuring cock up wasn't down to me but measuring calipers.. Nigel will vouch for that as well! Getting the engine running again was fun.. The spark at the plugs which was there yesterday had vanished today!! After lot's of searching and ing I traced the problem down to the run/stop switch which had decided that the run position just wasn't an option any more! So sorting those two problems kinda killed any chance of a test drive today But there's always tomorrow The amended "To do" list.. Find out why the fuel tap is leaking.. Fill diff with oil. Finish the wiring, it's about 90% done. Finish the prop shaft.. About 50% 90% done. It just needs welding and fitting. Bleed the brakes again to get the last of the air out. Warm the engine up and change the oil. Set the front end up. Get WN off the bench.. Go for a test drive With WN off the bench it only seemed fair that I rolled her outside for a few photos.. For me... This one really hits the spot

    Translation help needed

Gents, I finally found a photo of a decal that I need for the refurbishment of the HDT1000. Unfortunately it isn't in the best of shape and some of it isn't readily readable. Some of it is unreadable but I'm thinking that if you know German, French, or Swedish you can help me fill in the blanks. Here's the decal in question. I may be getting a bit higher resolution photo of it and might be able to post that if necessary.

    Cub Cadet Transport Box

Thanks Chris! So today I went about sanding it down and painting it. I was going to add a skim of filler all over it to get rid of the pitting! but I thought if I do that it may look like its made with new iron, I thought if I leave it a little pitted and give it a few coats of paint, its rough age will still be there, so anyway the frame is now all painted up with a few coats of gloss black, just waiting to put some good quality grained wood into it and varnish it up.

    Newby Hall Tractorfest Day 1

Here's some I took on the first day. Not as many as Paul though. Chris and I had other things to do and think about. Many hands make light work. This had Chris and I doing some thinking. This lad was making pencils. His work bench is a sidecar on a bicycle.
