Got a great Christmas present from my friend Gary (Minky) two new Carlisle tyres, just need to find something to use the rims on. -
3 pointsThanks Norm Thanks Alain, factory look is kinda what were aiming for.. How they should of built it kinda thing A bit of paint fun from Monday/Tuesday for you all.. Cleaning layers of paint off is never fun! There was at least four thick layers! So with the thick old paint off and a quick coat of red oxide sprayed on to stop it rusting (the weather is rather damp at the mo) I could get a good look at the damage the thick paint hid! Lot's of hammer and dolly work later the hood is starting to look a lot straighter

Big Tap Wrench
HeadExam and one other reacted to Rocboni for a post in a topic
I always find the Christmas Eve rather boring considering I no longer believe in Santa😮 (no presents for me this year😳) so I decided to venture out into the workshop and make something! Going back to work on the 7th so need to keep myself occupied for two weeks, that is in between going to the pub! So probably not the only tool to be made over the festive period. Wanted to make something usable so made large tap wrench to cater for some of the bigger taps in my collection although it's still not big enough for the largest ones! So after some Turning, milling, knurling and threading, this is what I came up with. -

A dirty day

But a dry one too... The rain eased and I decided to have an hour ronking around on bendy. I really started to enjoy myself, chewing up the grass and getting muddy. Then this I over did things and the front three point mount got snagged, Only one thing for it, C4 to the rescue And courtesy of two go pros, here's some cut down footage. -

That may be true, but only due to market threshold and range. The ATV, RTV, and other small off road equipment market is a much larger market here in the states. I order most of my tyres off ePay site and chose the lowest price with free shipping. I have compared these prices to brick and mortar store tyre prices and found internet stores to be half or more less in price. The result is that you can afford a better tyre for the same price as a poor tyre. The first thing to remember is that buying a cheap or low quality tyre that looks good is similar to courtship experiences, the wrong choice will cost you in the short run, long run, and running in general and most likely you will be running without the tyres or auto you paid for. However a premium high quality tyre not only looks good, but will bring a lifetime of good experiences that will make life rewarding. This explanation is often received well by the female in your life as she would want to think her mate smart enough to make good choices, after all you picked her. -

Now i've gone and done it, bought a Wheelhorse today ! Picked up a Raider 12 (well i think thats what it is) for £250. It says on the side Raider 12 but when i cross referenced the model number from the tag it says it is a 12HP 8 Speed. My info says the Raider 12 was made up untill 1972 with a different serial number, my serial number (1-0350) is for a 1973 12HP 8 Speed. So, is my info wrong or is my Wheelhorse a bitsa ? -

I saw a couple of lads wheeling this sprayer and had a chat with them, It's a Drake & Fletcher Mistifier, made in Maidstone, Kent. They bought it in the bring and buy sale. -

I may be wrong, but compared to you guys over there in the States, we don't have the range of quality tyres for garden tractors readily available over here. -

1 pointGot a start made on a new work bench today. Three inch angle iron for legs and three building planks. Had to scribe the first plank to the wall as it was a bit wobbly. Still need to get some 2mm sheet folded up to go on top of the planks, make a shelf for underneath and mount the vice.

1 pointYes, they are weird Nigel. Had a play with a golf buggy a few years ago while over the pond. Have some photo's of the works somewhere. Can't quite remember how it all worked but the petrol engine was VERY quiet. Something different.

1 pointYour carb is probably from a Chicken Power bicycle engine. The primer wasn't needed because the fuel tank is mounted above the carb and the rubber stopper type carbs are the newest style. Hopefully the little rubber thingy isn't dried out and hard because we haven't found a way to replace just the little rubber, only change the whole arm if you can find one. Member Webhead may have some if you need one, he is also the same guy who sells the diaphragms on ebay. A good remote control fuel line check valve may substitute but I haven't had the need to try that yet. That's all that little ball or rubber does, check valve the fuel so it only flows in the direction of the carb. You can test that rubber valve by connecting a clean piece of fuel line and see if you can suck air past the valve. if you can, the arm will need to be replaced unless you can get it to seal properly. A new diaphragm will help pump enough fuel and usually needed to get these engines running.
