    Number plate letters

Whilst at my usual place on a Tuesday we found a box of the old black number plate letters, sign for the shed door or display board or whatever

    Winterizing the Herd

I'll be taking out all the machines, driving them for a while, lubing the grease fittings, cleaning/replacing air/fuel filters, and changing oil. I also hope to install fuel shutoffs on the remainder without them and run as much gas out as possible and then adding liberal amounts of Seafoam and Marvel Mystery Oil to the fuel of those not used during the winter. It will be a time to wash and clean them, charge the batteries and work on a connected battery tender. These are high hopes for as many machines as I am speaking but even with school, I think I can swing it. The fun part will be driving them. I am als wanting to install a 18" buzz saw on the front of one machine to me able to cut logs in a holder of sorts, something I could either move forward or backwards or raise or lower. I must watch out as I think Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) already has a helicopter flying over once in a while. For now I have a couple Bolens and a Wheel Horse out, tomorrow will bring more.

    Haddenham steam Rally 2016.

Saturday was a bit of a washout, but Sunday was a glorious sunny day, The Wheelhorse 706 is for sale, there was also a 1960's "Capco" Field Rider 301 for sale on one of the stalls. but the owner wanted £550.00, and didn't know what make it was.

    Marriage of two machines!

Great bit of kit My version of this involves a quad, front mounted flail mower with castor wheels on the front, I added an adjustable pair of wheels at the rear, and towed it round to cut the paddocks. I've now modified it again by cutting off the castors and adding a towbar which flips over for centre or offset towing. First pic shows the four wheeled version.

    Cub Cadet Q36 Snow Thrower

No hitch/ mule drive, maybe the same as the mower, not sure, no lift rod or chute rod, but Snow Thrower has been rebuilt nearly from the ground up, with new impeller bearings, powder coat, skid shoes, and good used two piece drive shaft, geear box and new pulley will replace the stub drive shaft shown in the pictures. This would be good on either a late narrow frame or early smaller (109) wide frame. 100.00 to forum members

    Wheelhorse 706 fuel tank cap.

I met a gentleman at the Haddenham steam rally last weekend, he is on the lookout for a fuel tank cap for this tractor, if anyone can help, please PM me for his phone number. I believe the tractor is also for sale. It's in Norfolk, by the way.

    Wheelhorse 706 fuel tank cap.

That is a big challenge!. 706 model doesn't show up anywhere, but I looked up 877 (similar), the part number was 5186 superseded by 55-4700. Both discontinued. If a used one can be found, it would be like finding a Pearl in a Restaurant Oyster !. The remaining option would be to look for one that fits a classic Harley Davidson, as it was a Generic manufactured part used on many other applications. Guys in the U.S have used this route to obtain a Cap for similar models 64-67 ish. If it's allowed?, an example Cap that could possibly fit is in this -Link-, but dimensions would need to be checked first with the seller.........assuming he would be prepared to pay the price!. Best I can offer. Shame the Blue Traction Engine is 'Out of Shot'.

    Mower Deck refurbishment

This is a deck I reproduced using sheet steel and a course in welding at my local evening classes. The gearing was replaced. New blades were made from strips of steel carefully balanced. Sorry about non standard wheelhorse paint but this was 30 years ago when the Redhorse was not so cheerished.

    Happy Birthday Joseph

Whoa, slow down Alan, maybe Joseph would like to acquire his "own" machines. By learning from dad he may have a leg up on all of us.
