    The Preperation For Newby Hall

Sorted all the mess out today, first tractor back in the shed was the Cub Cadet, the next one was the Shak'in Horse which was still in the back of the old van, after unloading it and getting up my drive (towed with Freebee Raider), ive put the B112 on the lift in the workshop and the other 2 Raiders in the garage, the Patio is clear woo hoo (brownie points). While I had the old van in the drive I emptied all the show and camping stuff out ( why do two people need 6 chairs, 4 12 pole windbreaks and 2 tables) plus a load of junk I havnt seen since 07 when I put it in there. Had to dig a Raider out of the wood store for a photo shoot then put everything away again. lastly had a sweep up and went to the pub. Another day gone, I have to work tomorrow so only leaves Thursday, Heres a couple of random photos of the day.

Wheel Horse Raider 14 Zero Turn

HI James, I'm using this stuff.. Not even going to try and pronounce the name Garry bought it years ago for topping up bike battery's and it's been sitting on a shelf in the shack ever since! After yesterdays mouse hunting I was greeted by the build bench looking like this when I went to the shack this morning! A little while later the bench was a lot tidier and I could actually see what I was going to work on Well, not all the parts as some are stashed under the bench. As I was stripping the last remaining parts off the hood stand I noticed more rust that needs a bit of work.. The hood stand is now stewing in the E tank. I did make a start on cleaning up the chassis, but I didn't get that much cleaned up as the shack was filling up with rust dust and it was raining so I couldn't do this part outside! A much dryer and warmer day is forecast for tomorrow, so fingers crossed for some rust stripping action in the sun And for your viewing delight, here's part 1 of Project Zero-ish turn.

    1975 Wheelhorse C-100

Hi W/Gazelle I fitted John Deere 279 deck spindle housings minus the shafts to the front stub axles of my C121 these have 3/4" bore bearings the same as the Wheelhorse I scrounged these from a customer of ours-a council mower shop whose policy was if the bearings are shot, change the whole assembly! If a walk behind mower needed more than a spark plug to repair it -it was scrapped! I bought a box of new bearings from the USA for these and fitted a couple of nice narrow Howard/ Dowdeswell rotavator wheels along with 4.00 x 8 tri rib tyres. These housings have four threaded holes to attach them to the deck, these now take the wheel bolts. They almost lined up,just a touch with a file needed, tube spacers then fitted to give the track width I wanted. regards Doug.
