  1. nice find! bit under the hitch looks like a strengthener...
  2. sweet! handy bit of kit...
  3. Great pics, after seeing the forecast we headed south yesterday instead
  4. What a fab story, look forward to the rest... Andrew was lucky to get a steal and even luckier to be helped by you across the pond! That's what I love about our site, no barriers to help and support. Great pics too
  5. We found out when we collected and spoke to the owner. He was being pursued to sell the hitch outside the auction!
  6. Thanks guys! A couple more, I think Ewan will be joining and posting pics.
  7. Will do, it's rough! Just had it running though and drove off the trailer, so it's not a basket case!
  8. Finally something other than red!
  9. For those wondering what to use and on some models - how to cut the holes out. it's called grip tape and is used on skateboards - so easy to come by on that auction site. Cut to shape with old scissors or a stanley knife. if you need to cut holes, then mark them from the underside in pencil. I just traced round them on a flat surface after marking 1.5" in from the edge. I then made punch from a piece of chrome pipe - turning the edge sharp on the lathe, and then with a hammer on a piece of rubber mat they were cut through. and voila... Bendy has grippy footplates
  10. looking good norm, I'd forgotten how rusty it was when Martin had it!
  11. sounds like you've been busy! great place too
  12. Vat free machine mart is great! My welder and compressor were both vat free...
  13. I changed to mig from arc a few years ago. It's a sip inverter mig, weighs next to nothing but will blow holes through 10mm plate! Still using pub gas guess that's the perk of living next to a pub
  14. Small update, Bendy finally has an exhaust Cue a piece of child's swing, a table leg and lots of holes Filled with fibreglass and welded up And a nice stainless heat guard

    Bolens G14

    Come introduce yourself...
  16. I've drawn up a set of Bolens decals for Andrew (triumph66) from photos and a few measurements he's given me. Would appreciate it if anyone can give me some measurements for the hood decals and if anyone has a clear pic of the high/low decal. thanks
  17. so it's just the deck pulling backwards, is it the correct profile and length? does it need more tension?
  18. I don't think they ever do, due to the fact the deck height is adjustable. Have you got the routing correct? I've seen some interesting belt routing on old westwoods where folks go the wrong way round the idlers... Any pics? thanks
  19. You can dig them out without stripping. When re inserting just make sure they don't get knocked in too far!
