  1. I'm looking forward to seeing the build thread, Alan. That goes for Nigel and Ewan as well.
  2. The hammer on the bonnet shows it's size very well. No chance of you driving it then, Nigel.
  3. You sure you'll all have enough room, James?
  4. Possible maybe. But I'd think it would be very slow.
  5. I'll not ask as to which supplier you will be using.

Well it's up and running now. Throttle cable sourced of a Mountfield walk behind mower. Needed shortening and the ferrul into the control lever case modifying a bit. After a run round, ran sweet and no smoke. Job done!
  7. All the Best, Paul. Don't eat to much cake.
  8. Thanks for the appreciative comments, lads. Unfortunately I can't claim to building it alone. Still bits to do. Mainly inside and electrics. Colour scheme is down to Carol.
  9. That's one of a pair of Carol's garden features.

Thanks Chris, but I don't think it's something you can send by post. Going to try and catch a chap next week, who services/breaks ride ones etc. I'll send a photo and details anyway tomorrow.
  11. The latest photo's taken today. That's yer lot for now.

I rooted out some old Wheel Horse cables. The idea was to use an inner in the original outer sheath. Unfortunately the WH inners are a few thou bigger then the Lawnflite one.

I've been working on a neighbours Lawnflite ride on. I sold them it about 6-7 years ago, in good running order, when I got my Wheel Horse C-125. Two years ago it wanted a new battery and was traveling at a snails pace. Since then it had been left outside with a cover thrown over it. On examination of the drive pulleys etc, I found, though not seized, everything rather stiff in operation. This had caused the drive belt to the gearbox to come off the tension pulley. No wonder it was moving at a snails pace. Stripped it all down and gave it a good clean up. Now working as it should. Next I turned my attention to the engine. 8hp B&S. Battery on and the engine spun like a good 'un. Checked the oil and a good job I did. Nothing on the dipstick. I drained about two cup fulls of very black liquid out and filled with fresh oil. Petrol in and lets see if it will run. After a bit of cranking to get fuel through it fired up and ran fine. Back on the ground and try the clutch and gears. All working ok and then, the throttle cable snapped. I've been told they are now obsolete, so now the hunt is on.
  14. Due to computer problems I've been unable to post photo's of the progress of the studio. Here are some updates
  15. Now all I have to do is remember how I did that. Using lap top BTW.
  16. I bet the swinging arm bearings are bushes and no grease nipples?
  17. Built a snowplough/dozer blade about 5 years ago. Not had any snow as such since.
  18. The Mill is a lovely place, George. As to the drove road marker, my previous abode had grave stones as floor flags and various other stones from the local abbey.
