This coming Sunday, 17th, we are running the 8th Allonby PloughingMatch. This is a charity event and this year the charity is the Radio Cumbria Jigsaw Appeal. There will be a few static displays and various stalls. Besides the usual vintage tractors, I have persuaded a friend to bring along one or maybe two of his Ransoms and a plough. It's not to late for anyone up this end of the country to enter and it would be good to see some horticultural equipment,besides the Ransoms and my Wheel Horses.

Nice collection there. Those shears in the last photo look interesting.

Here's one Tecalemit from my late uncles garage. Plus one with no name. Also another nameless one. At a guess pre war, or even older. Steel body but the rest of it is mostly brass.

I'm thinking, machine out the centre and weld in a sleeve to take a slightly wider bearing, held with circlips.

Went over to the widows across the green today, to cut her large expanse of grass as her Snapper ride on is in dock. Just got nicely going, when the cutter deck lost drive. The bearing in the v pulley has disintegrated. Luckily I had the one that came with the C-81 on the shelf, so I continued with that. Cheap, rubbish idea for the pulley in my estimation. Bearing integral with the pulley. Could be a mod coming up.

Barmy idea to say the least. Insurance for shows etc, is sensible, but for your own garden? How would it be policed?! Then what? Self propelled walk behind mowers?
