Maxwell-8 reacted to Stormin in Pup Proofing The Garden.
Been dog proofing the garden yesterday while we still have some garden left. Erected a fence between it and the yard. I did have some help from Nell, the pup. Rather large pup now. Driving the posts in was fun. When I swung the mallet, she'd jump up and try to grab it and push the post with her paws.
The hole for the post by the house proved a bit of a problem. A piece of the original drive was still there under the soil. Four inch thick. That I attacked with a large chisel and lump hammer. After about an hour and a half and an aching wrist, I managed to get through concrete and the post in. Then fitted the last panels. Not bad for an afternoons work. I only collected the posts in the morning.
Fitted the gate first thing this morning.

Maxwell-8 reacted to 1967Craftsman's in 6hp Craftsman Power Unit Restoration
Hi folks,
I'm back with an update on the tractor, which I again got some good but bad news on. The bad news is I found another small hole in my gas tank after it was sandblasted, the good news is I got a brand new Autolite spark plug for the engine and I bought an NOS air filter.....
The bad below......
The good below, the new spark plug....
The new NOS filter below, I only got it for around $13.00 on Ebay.....
The old spark plug below.....

Comparing the old filter to the new NOS one. At this point some (or maybe all) folks would say ok you can throw the old filter out now since it looks disgusting and you got the new one, BUT that is not me. I will save it even when the NOS one is in.....

Well folks,
I got some good but bad news, my gas tank got sandblasted the other day and it has a small hole in it. It can easily be repaired but it was something that I didn't expect. I will try repairing it myself, if not bring it to someone if need be.....

Maxwell-8 reacted to 1967Craftsman's in 6hp Craftsman Power Unit Restoration
Well folks,
I'm back with an update on the tractor. All the engine bolts are out of the engine, the belts are off and out of the way, and the engine is now ready to be taken off the frame. The engine will be taken off in the spring and after I get my other 10 horsepower Craftsman running though, I don't want too much apart at once from 2 different tractors and I don't want too many projects apart at one time.
This is all for now, more to come soon......

Maxwell-8 reacted to nigel in Hako D522 diesel tractor
Well I thought I would revive this topic, I ended up buying this from Harry ( I was robbed ) after it sat for 4 years in a container, it took me 3 days to get it running after changing all fuel pipes and wiring flushing tanks etc, when it did finally go it started revving and kept revving faster and faster until I could not stop it, my mate hid behind a digger as I jammed a lever on the governer to try and stop it which it didn’t ,then real disaster happend the governer snapped off, I ended up pulling the fuel line off and it stopped, now I have a major problem of getting the governer out of the engine, 🙄

I recently acquired this Bolens G10. Bought it as a runnner with tranny problems.
After some searching I found out the detent balls and springs for the shift forks are gone. Any idea on how I could get some new balls and springs. I believe its 6mm

Maxwell-8 reacted to nigel in End of an era start of a new one
Well after 15 years my lease was up on my workshop and the powers that be won’t extend it, so what do I do? 2 choices realy, first one is retire and sit in my rocking chair pissing me knickers and dribbling until I snuff it , or start again, we’ll it wasn’t rocket science and the decision was made. 😂
And 2.5 weeks later

Maxwell-8 reacted to ranger in Trying out the "Ropervator"! ( and fitting a 3 point hitch )
Finally got around to getting the "Roper 38" tiller working, modified the hitch pickup mountings to match the 3 point on my C121. My 3 point was originally going to be hydraulic, but getting the geometry right without the whole lot hanging too far back was awkward, due to the under seat fuel tank. So I used a winch instead. This is rated at 2000 lbs with a " snatch block " pulley mounted on the lift arm cross brace, the tiller weighs around 250lbs. I've taken a few photos, but only after everything was fitted.

Maxwell-8 reacted to expeatfarmer in 137 Goes to a new home
My old MG2 from feb 1936 is about to go to a new home in Gloucestershire. Rebuilt from a pile of scrap in 2016 to as near ex factory as I could get it, it is now time for it to go to a new home, not without a fight though it has not been run for three years so a good day was spent stripping the car. magneto, de- compressor . Surprised myself that I managed to crank start it without immediate cardiac issues!. Last time it was shown I covered it in a mix of WD40 and oil which over the years has collected dust so that it now has a patina that looks it's 86 years. I managed to get it to run and had a good charge around the garden for old time sake. Sad to see it go but too many projects left to deal with. As far as I know 137 is the oldest known MG2 crawler being number 36 of the line, it has the Sturmey Archer 600cc side valve engine fitted with the chain crank starter mechanism, open exhaust and flat top engine cowling fitted with a cycle brake lever to operate the decompressor.
