  1. That's a lovely vintage cylinder mower. I use to mow the Croquet Lawn at Castle Drogo with a 42 " Dennis mower which in my professional opinion is one of the nicest cylinder mowers on the market at the time. You can't beat them for presentation.
  2. Alain, Can you take a photo of your sleeve hitch decals please as I just bought one myself. Be good to try to get one made up if possible. Thanks Andrew .
  3. I agree, keep it original and preserve it patina. Once it gone, it gone.
  4. Alain, You done a superb job on the H16 and those tyres look the business. Cheers
  5. I have a sold a few bits and bobs on eBay over the years but the one thing that stuck in my mind was when I was selling a 5 foot long trailer which had very little use and was in full working order. The 'buyer' contacted me saying he was interested and could I meet him in Exeter at one of the services with the trailer as he live in Axminster. I replied that I only live 10 minutes from Exeter but I reluctantly agreed I would meet him with the trailer for the full asking price. I said I would meet him at 10 the following morning, a Sunday at the service station. He replied it was too early, could I not meet him at 2 and at B&Q? At this point I terminated the meet. What a waste of my time. However, that evening, a guy from Cornwall contacted me and asked if it's still available and I said yes. He said great could he pick it up at 8 the following morning? I said yes but I was really expecting him to turn up on time or even turn up. At 8 the following morning, he was there with a wad of cash. There are decent people out there but there are a lot of time wasters too.
  6. Always good to have manuals readily accessible.

    C-120 refurb.

Looking very good. I like the exhaust stack too!
  8. Thanks for getting back to me on the location. The site is still selling wood burners and garden ornaments. It very nearly flooded last winter with all the heavy rain. The cricket pitch opposite was flooded and the cricket pavilion was also flooded. Anyways thanks for the info.
  9. Look a very tidy example Tom. Nice one!

    Bolens G14

Excellent outcome Iain. What ultrasonic cleaner did you use?
  11. I have not been this excited since I collected my ex girlfriend from a Anne Summers' Party back in the 80s. The anticipation was unbearable. All this teasing just got to stop!
  12. Dave, When the 600 arrive in the UK I will take some photos of it outside Buckingham Palace and the Houses Of Parliament for comparison. Might take one outside Waitrose too! All three will have Her Majestry formal approval! Cheers Andrew
  13. Looking forward to seeing the sales list and phots Alan. Well done to Nigel and Ian for helping you out with this mammoth task but rest assured they will go to good homes.
  14. The green 600 is being sold by Jack the Hat I believe. I was interested in it when it was listed a few weeks ago but the listing ended earlier. Anyway I got one now!
  15. Ditto above comments!
  16. Dave, thanks for collecting the 600 yesterday. It looks brilliant and the photos of the long horn cattle are wonderful. Thanks also to Iain and Neil for their help and sage advice in this covert operation. As Dave said it was nearby to him and unknown to me close to port too. As a additional bonus, Dave got contact with a local CC dealership who will let him have a crate free. Luckily Dave got a fork lift on his Bolens so that is another complication sorted. The only snag was the bank transfer. Last Saturday I organised the money to be sent. It didn't arrive until Tuesday evening UK time. So I learnt that it is not automatic and don't do it over the weekend. Thanks for the encouraging comments and yes MOM us a great forum hence my green supporter badge.
  17. Mark, that's a great looking CC. I think a bit of yellow will compliment my white collection
  18. Is that the garage just off Robertsbridge High St enroute to the station or the one on the A21 just before John's Cross? Just curious really as I am from that area originally.
  19. I have just bought this manual for my 800. It's in mint condition and will be a nice addition to the growing Bolens literature. I have used the PDF one when working on the tractor but it is not the same as having the actual manual in your hands. Also very useful as it double up for the 600 model too....
  20. I agree. They are only original once and the patina in the first two photos is great. Are they up and running?
  21. A great find and a dine looking collection of vintage mowers. Are you going to restore them?
  22. I got a few BOlens brochures and owners' manuals for my tractors. I love the 60s sales pitch and photography. I have a whole stack of literature for my Morris Minor LCV van going back years; all part of my collecting bug and I really dig that nostalgia too.
  23. George, It's always a pleasure to see someone taking the time and effort to mow the grass creatively. I do the same for my customer's lawns. I mow in different directions every time I mow the lawn. For one customer's lawn, I mow twice in different directions using thier old trusty ATCO B24 cylinder mower to create a chequered lawn. The Honda mowers are in my opinion the most reliable rotory mowers around.
