    C-120 refurb.

Looking very good Norman. I agree ribbed tyres would be ideal.
  4. I agree with Chris, a cool box would be an iconic American add on! Don't forget a fixed bottle opener as well!
  5. I love those exhaust pipes; uber cool! Looking forward to seeing it painted up and all the detailing completed.
  6. My first car was a Renault 14 GTL in metallic green with a sliding vinyl sunroof registered VJK 411T bought for £90 plus a bottle of single malt from my grandfather who retired from driving due to ill health. A fantasic car to drive and so modern and refined compared to the BL cars of that era. It failed it's MOT due to rust on the suspension turrets. Here's a photo of an example of it. I still have several photos of it somewhere..... Will try and dig them out if I can.
  7. Wristpin, that's my point entirely about mowing the grass before it's too long and in favourable conditions. I am glad some else picked that up as well.
  8. I hope the pictured Black Grouse Label was the stronger prescribed medication!Looking good.
  9. Many Happy Returns Tom. All the best Andrew
  10. A very useful and informative post Iain. Chris I have already suggested that Iain should write a book on the History of Bolens Garden Tractors; a Haynes Workshop would further compliment his work.
  11. That's a great job there, George. Be good to see photos of it al in growth.
  12. Simon, if you go on GTtalk and click on Bolens, there are some Bolens suppliers on there who may give you the correct measurements. Also there's a handy step by step guide on how to change belts on the tube frames tractors. Cheers
  13. That's very useful and timely info OB as I am just about to take delivery of some belts for my 800 from Brian aka Bolens 1000. Simon5 whereabouts are you in Dorset as I live in near Newton Abbot, Devon.
  14. I keep forgetting about the fibre glass seat pan for the 900. Still learning about Bolens......
  15. Simon, Welcome to MOM. You have a early 1960s 'round hood' Bolens. Most likely a 800 model even though the rear fenders are wrong for that model. I like the Agri tyres on yours. I have just ordered a set of belts from the States from a guy called Brian aka Bolens 1000 on GTTalk forum. Be interested to know where you got yours from. Hopefully Iain, Chris, OB or HE will see this post and give you more info. Cheers Andrew Here's a photo of my 800 for comparison.
  16. Amazing technology though I was 'upset' by the action of the men kicking the robots.

    Bolens G14

Within a month of getting the 1254, I bought the 800 and the rest is history as they say.....
  18. Happy Birthday Ian. All the best Andrew

    Bolens G14

That's a tidy job Iain. Be good to hear it up and running.
  20. Hello Martin, Welcome to MOM. I don't have a Ŵheel Horse myself (I have several Bolens) but it would appear that you can get the parts to keep it going. I have been told that the C series is semi professional use and would probably be more than sufficient for your needs. If it is the original engine then it should be a Kohler 12hp tractor. As you say there are a few chaps here who can give you all the info you need. Generally speaking, the Ŵheel Horse is a properly built garden tractor unlike the modern plasticity ones you can get today unless you are prepared to pay over £3500 for a Ride On. £450 or so is probably about right but as with all, especially older machinery, check it over before using prior to each mowing session. You can get a 42 or 48 inch mowing deck and there is a guy here on the forum who might have one up for grabs. Your tractor I think is from the early 1980s. As a professional gardener, one of the things about maintaining an orchard is to time the grass cutting. Do it when the grass isn't too long and when the conditions are favourable. Also mow before the apples start dropping on the ground as your mowing deck will not able to cope with the extra debris. Best of luck with the viewing tomorrow. Andrew
  21. That's a great looking Gutbrod you got from George. A good deal I would say.
  22. Well done for getting your tranny all sorted. Where did you get the parts from ?
