That's a Meccano kit if ever I saw one !

I have got another back end for a 10hp which will be up for sale soon (as will the tractor when the gearbox is sorted)

Definitely a puzzle and they are both clueless with this tractor as am I!

  2. @pmackellow do you know what colour it should've been originally.

As you can see its in a sorry state but he is hoping to put it back together for his friend. It was his friends dad who took it apart many years ago and his son would now like to reassemble it.

  3. Hi, i'll get some pictures up shortly, I have a friend who has a Martin Markham in pieces. The previous owner took it to bits and now my friend is trying to put it back together but it needs some transmission work etc. Does anyone know if they had manuals with exploded diagrams on? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Ewan

I've got an anvil. May make a forge one day.

The tube going under on yours and the extension lead, make me think there's a fan somewhere.

I keep looking at anvils but they seem to be expensive, yes i've got an air bed pump thats rigged up to it, works well in my opinion :)

    Nice work again, Ewan.

I was going to take mine to Newby, but I don't think I'll bother now. Be to embarrassing.

Cheers Norm, I don't know how it'll perform on wood consumption, its only small but it certainly got hot on the test run! Bring it along :)

Nice work Ewan. One mistake though. Mine! Showed them to swmbo. "You could make me some."

Thanks :D My mum has already commissioned some, quite a challenge to make without a proper anvil.

  7. Last year I made a forge out a gas bottle we had laying around, i've made a few little things but nothing of much significance so I thought i'd make some shelf brackets.

Slight cuts were put in them so I could bend them in the same place.

All the components before bending, not bad to say they were done by eye

Above the photo shows them with all the welding complete and a coating of wax.

And the finished thing, the screws will get replaced eventually with black ones.

  8. Ive had this small gas bottle hanging around for over a year, i've already made a forge out of a larger one but I have always wanted to make a little stove to cook on when we go to shows. with the help of my dads welding we knocked this up in a couple of days.

The legs can be removed by loosening the bolts, the idea was to make everything quite compact.

Im pleased with how its turned out, when I get round to it I need to add another air vent, a new handle and some other little bits but hopefully it will serve us well!

  9. Just the engine I needed for my Wheel Horse rj58 i've just bought, I know that lots of Clinton engines came from the factory yellow. The one which I have is also yellow.

What size do you want Ewan ?

I have found the small flat idler pulleys on the bay but i'm looking for the 4" v pulley and have been struggling to find anything bigger than 2.50"

  11. Good job Chris, gives me a couple more ideas.

I started to make a couple of these idlers a few months ago for my tiller and never finished them. Does anyone know where I can buy a big idler?

Thanks Ewan, did you get to use it and was it any good ?

It looked well but we never had the chance to use it as my dad said, re-watching that video and now that I know a little bit more about ploughing I can see that it obviously wasn't set up right as the coulter wheel wasn't cutting the ground.
