Just a little update, after months of driving the tractor at shows and on our land etc. I noticed that the seat is very uncomfortable on rough land and so I bought one of these seat covers. I am very pleased, very well made and very comfortable!
I know! I can't imagine this ever getting into shops nowadays. Cub Cadet, I wonder if the models my sister's dad used to make were the same ones from the magazines. I expect so. I just like the little thing, wish I could come up with a practical use for it to justify the space it takes up!
I would guess so as the Hobbies company made different products and advertised them in the magazines.
My grandma has one of these fret saws in her garage, my great uncle used to buy the Hobbies Magazines weekly and the Annuals, many of which are now in my possession as well as the model plans. He used to make model boats with it.
Earlier this week I got round to painting the wheel weights I bought off Charlie earlier this year, I have decided to put these wheel weights on because they are cub cadet ones, the ones that came with my tractor will be painted white so some one else in the family can use them on their tractor.
Just read your whole thread Ewan. Exceptional work standard. Vast array of practical skills required/acquired in these projects. You can be rightly proud of your effort (bet your Dad is as well ). Tractor looks as good as new!........ What's next then ?.
Thanks Richard! Next on the list is making a few different attachments for it including a water pump powered off the front pto, I'll have to put up a rebuild thread some time. Unfortunately some of these projects will have to wait until christmas as I am starting uni in late September
So a couple of weeks ago Finn forgot to take it out of gear when getting off to open a gate, consequently it took off straight into the gate and had an implication with one of the coach bolts sticking through... This is the mess that it made.
Next he was asking me to repair it for him so I started by using a fibre glass repair kit and then using a little bit of filler.
Back in November last year my dad bought a large collection of WH implements and tractors, in the collection was a C-125 that my brother bought, he wasn't a fan of the hood and fender so he hired me to convert it into a C-121 and restore it for him.
Here is what it looked like, it was in a restored condition and most of it has been sandblasted so it was an easy job for me to just sand down the paint and then repaint.
After a bit more taking apart and cleaning the bulk had been painted and reassembled, this is the only picture I took of me painted chassis and gearbox.
