4x4forks reacted to expeatfarmer in Hairy Moment loading for Newbury
Loading up three machines for the Ransomes display at Tractor World, 137 decided not to slow down whilst I was reversing on the trailer, I was perched on the seat but managed to hit the decompressor lever and stop the engine before I went a over t. The old sphincters were twitching a bit. We call them our toys but should never forget that things can go badly wrong. All safely loaded now and nearly ready to go.

Pulled up the floor in the downstairs loo today. Needed some help.... Finn to the rescue, any excuse to hook up a trailer. He's really good at reversing it too.

4x4forks reacted to HeadExam in Bolens 1476 Muffler rehab
The first picture is what I started with. I bought a International Cub tractor muffler (IH-1, part # 351436R92) for 29.00 and fabricated my own mounts, I added a 1/4" hard rubber between washers to create a dampening effect to reduce vibration. I'll order a chrome slotted heat shield for it next week that will cover the body.

Plot number 5.
Perth man robbed again.
I think you must have confused the judges with your plot numbers George.
Terrible judging.

4x4forks reacted to HeadExam in Winterizing the Herd
I'll be taking out all the machines, driving them for a while, lubing the grease fittings, cleaning/replacing air/fuel filters, and changing oil. I also hope to install fuel shutoffs on the remainder without them and run as much gas out as possible and then adding liberal amounts of Seafoam and Marvel Mystery Oil to the fuel of those not used during the winter. It will be a time to wash and clean them, charge the batteries and work on a connected battery tender. These are high hopes for as many machines as I am speaking but even with school, I think I can swing it. The fun part will be driving them. I am als wanting to install a 18" buzz saw on the front of one machine to me able to cut logs in a holder of sorts, something I could either move forward or backwards or raise or lower. I must watch out as I think Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) already has a helicopter flying over once in a while. For now I have a couple Bolens and a Wheel Horse out, tomorrow will bring more.

Great bit of kit
My version of this involves a quad, front mounted flail mower with castor wheels on the front, I added an adjustable pair of wheels at the rear, and towed it round to cut the paddocks. I've now modified it again by cutting off the castors and adding a towbar which flips over for centre or offset towing. First pic shows the four wheeled version.

Who can recognise the parts ??
After I changed the engine on my Gutbrod 1032 I had a very heavy mower deck. I also had a small Murrey ride on with no deck.
I have several areas of grass which are right upto very large hedges so it has alot of suckers growing underneath. I made this trailed mower to get under the hedge and cope with the brush without getting scratched when mowing. it can be towed directly behind a machine or to either side.
It is the hole Gutbrod deck and the rear chassis mounting the engine from the Murry. Hight adjustable via old jocky wheel and solid rear tyres. It proves to be that successful I had to put flaps at the rear as it was throwing sticks 20ft out the back.

4x4forks reacted to Anglo Traction in Mower Deck refurbishment
This has been propped up against the wall in my garage since 2010 and came with the Raider/C-120. Need to get this up and running, so I dragged it out for a quick check/inspection-
Not a lot of meat left on that anti scalp Roller!. All solid Shell with no weld repairs and all free moving parts. Bearings are smooth tight and have been well greased.
Needs new Blades, Roller and a few bolts. Carrier Frame needs some work, so will take time out from the Traction Engine and take advantage of good late summer weather.
May have to replace the Deck Wheels as well, several chunks of rubber missing!. Nearly finished the Mule Drive.

I don't know what parts you referring to, but if it is bearings, bolts, or even spindles, Some manufacturers use very similar parts and designs, if it is deck parts them selves like hangers and hardware, that becomes an issue. One hint in searching is to use the word Toro with the part number and not Wheel Horse, as many of the part numbers were converted to the Toro name after its acquisition. It is how I have found many parts. By the way, Often Wheel Horse decks share many parts that are alike, look at decks other than yours. Half of the issues I faced on my 48" 5-1221 deck rebuild were not from wear or age, but of owner "redesign". It seem like many feel that they are qualified mechanical engineers if they can mount two scoops of ice cream on a sugar cone.
