Commando 800 scarifying
Ian and 2 others reacted to diggerjames for a post in a topic
Hi all whilst doing my topping with my John Deere 2520 I've also had my right hand man on our trusty old commando 800 which we recently got from Dibnah or Tom as you may no him by . So we decided to put our scarifier on her which she did a great job . I did how ever have to put some weigh on the implement ie a mini digger bucket to stop her bouncing about ! -

I did have the C-81 and C-125 entered, but as I did not get home from the farm till 11pm Sat night, I couldn't get them there for Sat and Sunday morning I was somewhat jaded. Grandson number 3 and I did pay a visit though. The days were hot and plenty of visitors hit town and the rally. Remembered my camera so a few photo's to follow. The motorcyclists were from The Isle of Man and they put on a fantastic comedy performance. Most of the bikes were Honda 50's. Couple of V8 hot rods. Something a little older. Stationary engines. Tractors. Horse drawn implements. Stunt riders. Syco. Getting a tow in wheelie bins. Finally some miniature steamers. Even though we were there by 11am taking photo's was a bit of a nightmare due to the crowds. -

SOME MORE RIDE ON`S + IMPLEMENTS
Lauber1 and one other reacted to ranger for a post in a topic
Should this be in the 'Home built items' section? Pulled this out of the spare stable/hay barn, I made this a couple of years ago out of an old oxy bottle, some scrap channel, an old oak fence post, (for bearings) J D front wheels and other assorted pieces from the 'come in handy' pile. My original intention was to make a smaller version of the fold up rollers the big boys use and pull it behind the Wheelhorse, but I ran out of spare bottles. With the wheels in place it fits nicely through the stable door. By pulling the lever the roll is lifted or lowered. The spike tooth harrow is one of a set of three I bought from the 'Cheffins' machinery sale a couple of months ago -

Hay time
Anglo Traction reacted to paul for a post in a topic
Farmers gone mad in Hampshire trying to get hay done. I have been asked by the local farmer to cut a wild flower meadow down later on in the year so today I got the allen out and cut down the hay where the mower cannot get to ie. round the troughs and fence line and was amazed it started first go. 1 pointI have been after a set of Ransomes Junior Gangs for a while now. Looking on that auction site, I found these not far from me Put a bid on & won thinking they were going to go for more than what I wanted to pay. Picked them up last night, ajusted the cylinders etc & delivered them to our field ready for use As the bolens 1886 is sick, I am going to get the HT20 out this week & sort & give it some work I am please with the condition of the gangs so should last a few more years

Respect to the mower racing boys
rotoscytheben reacted to Ian for a post in a topic
I went to see the blmra mower racing which was being held as luck would have it in the village I live today, and I now have respect for the mower racing guys.. Why? Well Karl who is Nigel's son was racing today and was kind enough to organize for me to have a blast on a racing mower round the track during a 10 min break.. How these guys manage to do so many laps at such high speed over a very bumpy track is amazing!! After 3 1/2 laps my body had had enough of being shaken to bit's, but boy was it worth it Video footage was taken, but for now have a photo of me having a fun time.... Of course I had to drive a racing Wheel Horse -
1 pointIt's always nice to meet up with a fellow forum member, but it's really special when they live half way around the globe. Neil took a holiday to the U.S. and we were able to meet up at the Annual Wheel Horse Collectors Club Show. The time flew by and Neil was sort of like a celebrity because of how far he came. He's a great man, and Carolyn is a wonderful woman as well. We had some great conversation and my daughter Megan REALLY liked learning from a U.K. perspective things like food, people and of course Dr. Who! (long story, we only receive ONE channel from U.K and that is BBC America so our choices in shows are greatly restricted). Anyway, it was really great to meet him, and not just because of the distance! Thanks for visiting us here Neil!
