Amongst many of my other projects I've been working with Sam and Nathan we have been looking at fitting hydraulics to the C121 , trying to think what will have a vee belt pulley on etc and knowing we're not going to need vasts amounts of pressure for what we're needing ( eventually it's going to be used for a three point hitch ) etc , so I've sourced a power steering pump off an old range rover 3.5 v8 engine . Which should be more than upto the job hopefully anyway , I've also gonna use if it has enough capacity a land rover pas resovoir, in order to mount the pas pump we had to dispense with the original exhaust to allow for room for the pump , here is what we have done so far !

    Commando 800 scarifying

Hi all whilst doing my topping with my John Deere 2520 I've also had my right hand man on our trusty old commando 800 which we recently got from Dibnah or Tom as you may no him by . So we decided to put our scarifier on her which she did a great job . I did how ever have to put some weigh on the implement ie a mini digger bucket to stop her bouncing about !

    Kohler Magnum 16 popping spluttering.

Well I think things are sorted Engine is running so much nicer today. After a bit of messing around, much thinking, and a light bulb moment, i realised the governor was fully open at half throttle, this explains the flatness. There is no way on earth this engine ran nicely, if at all, before it was removed by the last owner. With this set right i could then tweak the fine tuning and all seems good. There was a slight odd misfire, one when increasing the revs from idle and then intermittent on full revs, but this seems to have cleared up with some driving round the garden. I will test again tomorrow from cold and make sure So then got on and put my cement mixer back together. The real test will be fitting the cutting deck or pulling a trailer load of mud around can't wait! Thanks all

This is a great post and has the makings of a good movie, in that it is a great story, it made me laugh (a lot) and had some sad moments (poor Limpy). Ian, I think you and Nigel are going to have lots of fun and I am looking forward to hearing the stories.

Ditto Maybe we need to ask the plough experts to start some MOM ploughing classes, it seems like a number of people want to have a go.
