Thanks Iain, yep firing her up is a real mojo booster, it's good to hear life in her though after firing her up I can't hear much I expect your wife was saying "What the hell is that noise"? Or something along those lines It certainly was a great day, thanks again for all your help mate :thumbs; I don't think it really sunk in until I started to edit the video.. Then the manic grin broke out More like William Wollard which is better than being the first ever Top Gear presenter Well, after getting distracted by a lathe, moving the workshop about, a random tree and making lot's of noise Thursday, I'm finally cracking on with the front brakes again and get the calipers mounted.. Add a bit of metal, that bit under my finger.. Throw in a couple of triangles to put some strength back, here's one of em. Garnish with a couple of long bolts including having to drill through the kingpin pivot spindle thingy! Tack welded together. A fully welded up caliper bracket.. I think don't think it will fall apart in a hurry One bolted on caliper, one to go.. Yes I will be cleaning up the welds at some point.. And yes the wheel does still fit -

This is a vintage agricultural weekend held at Pestalozzi village in Sedlescombe Sussex ( tn33 0uf ). I've been going to this show since it started a few years ago and last year i was asked to take over the Horticultural section,it was very short notice and didn't have time to promote it. This year I'm looking for exhibitors to support me with this show. I've secured a good spot in the middle of the site and there will be a working area that is useable all day, there will be an arena display on both days so whatever you want to do with your machine nows your chance, This is a working weekend so whatever your interest its there, there will be plenty of stalls and a silent auction as well as live music, beer tent and plenty of food. There's free camping on a nice flat field just a short walk away. So come and have a fun weekend if you want to work your machine or just chill out, this will be a good show with your support, pm me for an entry form NOW -
1 pointYes, big smile on getting it running, thanks for the support Andrew and Tom. My aim is to sort out as much as possible on it this week and then have it as a running mechanical restoration project. Next on the tractor table is the HT23 as I need to sort out a few issues before the grass cutting season.

1 pointI had lots of fun with the carb. The float needle would either not shot off the fuel or would get stuck closed. Lots of cleaning made no difference so in the end I did some work on the float seat and that solved the problem. The engine fired up and it is running well. The tappets are very noisy which is unusual and the exhaust is blowing which was expected. It is great to have it running and it has given me enhanced enthusiasm for the other jobs. I am very pleased with the progress as I have had very little time on it over the weekend. Iain

if the genny part is still good then yes that's the plan, if that part is shot than i might be searching for a wheel horse to put it in -

got some more work done on the engine today, found out why bits of the governer were floating about in the sump. the culprit is this little piece here: that little piece was behind the big gear you see in these pics: when we got those things out we thought lets see why there is no compression so we put some oil down the bore. still no improvement so off came this piece then this piece: which doesn't look too healthy and off came this lot it soon became clear why there was such little compression, the piston rings were stuck right in the piston as can be seen here: the piston pin(is that the right word for the damn thing?) was almost completely stuck in the con rod, turns out there are a lot of burrs on there where the previous guy that worked on it hit it with something anyway time for a cuppa and a to not get too angry at that previous guy that's all for now -
1 pointi will be there again chris, its the highlight of my show list, this has to be one of the most relaxed shows and working weekends in the country ie no jobsworths saying you cant do that, you cant go there, they encourage our types of machines and make us all very welcome and give us as much space as we need for working and showing it would be great if forum members back you on this one mate, and a realy good place for forum users to meet up once a year

There'll be a few of us at Newby. Including some of the dubious southerners. Mark, (meadowfield) goes to the Bronte rally. He'll fill you in on that. Myself over this side, will be at the Hethersgill Vintage rally at Carlisle airport and Silloth Vintage rally. -
