6 pointsThanks Andrew Thanks Iain. I've been compared to a lot of people (mostly Rednecks) over the years, but never John Wayne The secret is to wear the hat backwards.. More aerodynamic that way Well chaps, WN now has a fully working suicide shift.. Working out the linkage was quite easy, making it all fit between the chassis and steering rod was not so easy.. Your have to wait til the next video to see it in action I'm afraid, but here's a few photo's to give you an idea. Pulling back on the shifter pushes the rod at the base forward.. Which pushes on the top of the L shaped pivot thingy and thus causes the next part of the linkage to be pulled down.. Which pulls down on on the cut down bike foot shifter and thus you have 1st gear.. I'm sure you can work out how to get the other 4 gears I've no idea which model Wh this pedal came from, but it makes a great clutch pedal.. By sheer luck the Honda's clutch cable couldn't of been a better fit.. With the cable routed over the top of the engine, the end that need to be connected to the pedal ends up about here.. That should make it very easy to connect

Which Bolens are unusual / rare?
nigel and 2 others reacted to Triumph66 for a post in a topic
On a very serious note, I look forward to hearing more about this Bolens with the FEL (Philip) and the sale of the Bolens collection plus implements (Alan). I can assure you both that whoever buy anything collectable within the forum, they will go to very good homes with appreciative owners. -

Grass cutting weekend with a twist
Muz123 and one other reacted to slf-uk for a post in a topic
I didn't appreciate how long our grass was until Saturday so some serious grass cutting was in order. The first job was to service the push mower so my wife could forge ahead with the smaller bits of grass and then sort out my son's electric toy car so he could tow trailers of grass cuttings from the push mower. I have been side tracked recently with new purchases and neglected the repairs needed on the main grass cutting tractor, the Bolens HT23. I did attempt to use it but it was too sick, those Kohler twins are a pain. I then spent the rest of Saturday hooking out a deck for a Bolens tube frame tractor which was hidden at the back of one of my storage sheds. The plan for Sunday was an early start, rebuild the tubeframe deck, drop it on a tractor and forge ahead. When I opened the bedroom curtains on Sunday morning I was faced with this surprise from my wife. I cut most of it out with the tractor today but as the push mower is set lower it can still be seen. So if you are planning to fly into Norwich fleapit International airport look out for it. Iain -

Which Bolens are unusual / rare?
Stormin and one other reacted to Triumph66 for a post in a topic
Alain, Don't be fooled by its appearance..... A true story. When I was a Head Gardener with the National Trust, one of my gardeners served in the Royal Navy for 25 years. He told me a funny story about how his ship sailed pass an American battleship somewhere. The American captain flashed a signal to the British Captain saying 'What it like to sail pass the World's largest Navy?' The Royal Navy Captain promptly responded 'What it like sailing past the World's best Navy?' An absolute classic. Cheers Andrew -

Which Bolens are unusual / rare?
Triumph66 and one other reacted to Alan for a post in a topic
HELP. ! After reading all the above posts I am a bit nervous that I might be flattened in the stampede at my about to be revealed news. Rapidly building armoured shelter right now. I know of approx 10 various Bolens which are about to be sold. These belong to a friend who is downsizing his property due to ill health etc. I believe I need to get the moderators permission first before saying too much as the owner is not on the forum or internet. Just as a starter there a two Ride a matics, the cast gold versions, various Husky's, a large frame Hydro which if I remember, is an 1177, plus, wait until I take cover, a Husky I think, with a front Hydraulic Loader. Also to be disposed of are approx 13 other garden tractors plus loads of other stuff. As said above, I think I need the go ahead from the mods before going too far, if I haven't done so already. If so, mods please delete. Alan. Spelt the correct way. , -
1 pointDon't know if I'll bother with heated seats. All the wiring is there, but no switches. It is a Land Rover Special Vehicles Disco. Originally a commercial, but with a full floor and partition behind the front seats. Rear doors have no window motors or switches fitted either.

1 pointI have just messaged the Mod's with creeping and crawling words so now await my fate. Good news, or bad, soon I hope.

what are the best tyres for grip for my wheel horse?
Joe the small engine man reacted to Ian for a post in a topic
Your welcome Joe, and thanks for watching my vids You can use filled tyres in the winter but it's best to drain them and refill with a 50% water/screen wash mix to stop the water freezing. You can use a water/anti-freeze mix but screen wash is much less harmful to the environment should it leak out than anti-freeze -
1 pointi live about 20 miles from cantabury margate is about 45 miles away

1 pointI hope they fair better than the U.S. Air Force in intercepting a Gyro pilot at the Capitol, because my row boat will have stealth capabilities and I will be disguised as Stephen Fry. I also do not believe that you are British Andrew, not knowing proper spelling and all.

1 pointVery interesting, looking forward to hearing more. Iain, spelt the correct way - honest

1 pointDear Alan, Thank you for sharing this info with everyone. I am more than happy to take the lead on this offer. I know the others are too busy to take care of this situation satisfactorily and fairly. In any case I am the only one with the correctly spelt name. Yours obedient servant, Andrew PS Alain, the Royal Navy are on stand by to intercept you. I have told them you are an insane illegal immigrant.

Hi Fergus, welcome to MOM.. Your plans for my old 6x6 sound interesting. I did plan to put a dozer blade on the front, I even bought all the steel to do it, just somehow never got around to it. Your lucky it was still for sale as I almost bought it back a month or so ago.. Lucky for you I decided my workshop was just too small to squeeze it in If you have questions about the 6x6 please feel free to PM me.. As Mark (Meadowfield) said above, it's good to have the 6x6 back in the fold -

1 pointBlimey! I didn't want to cause a riot. Only kidding. I never realized there were so many differences & models. Thank You to you all. If i come across anything fancy i'll inform accordingly. I know i keep a late light green Bolens (Briggs V twin) going for a customer but can't think of anything older around at the mo. It was just in case. p.s i think i heard mention of a Bolens with loader late last year but i can't be sure. I'll have to remember where i heard it. Night Night Philip
