Just got home from visiting the SVT and engine clubs rally. I have to admit, crawling out of bed at 6-30am, 350 mile round trip and getting home at 9-30pm, was well worth it. Met some of our Scottish members. The Fife Plooman, Eck, Ransome Ploughman, Rolloman and others, who all made Dunc and I welcome. Thank you very much lads. A pleasure to meet you all. I've a few photo's to put and a more in depth report, which I'll do tomorrow and I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Now for our Scottish members enjoying themselves and their machines. Apologies to those who's names I can't remember, or get wrong. Eck on his 1938 John Deere. Alan (I think) Honda 10hp powered Wheel Horse. Tom? The Ransome Ploughman. Some of their machinery. George, (The Fife Plooman) and Roloman enjoying themselves. George with is trophy. And a group photo. Finally some daft Sassenach making a mess of things. Not very straight on this one. But Eck said it was because I was following George. All being well, I'll be back.

    BOLENS STASH UPDATE

A few more items recovered from various hiding places which may, or may not, be of interest to someone. A very heavy bench drill. Will need a bit of TLC to make it operational again. Clean up, rewire etc. Approx 30" tall. Fabrex 470 saw bench. Table 16" x 11" which tilts for angled cuts. 8" blade. With untested single phase motor. A Honda generating set. Gas conversion. Engine turns freely via the pull starter. All the spec details can be seen on the photo's. More bits and pieces to be added as and when.

As a footnote to the above, Malvern is a long way for some members to travel and haul their machines, so that every Ransomes owner can take part in some way we are going to have a photo display board on which we will display photos and a brief description of machines from all over the world, I already have such photos from Australia, Norway, New Zealand and USA and will be happy to include as many as we can including machines from UK unable to attend. You can send photos and a brief description of the machine, where you are, what you do with your machine etc. either as a pm on this network to me or e mail me direct on cox746@btinternet.com

    are you an anzani owner

i am starting a register for all anzani horticultural machines, there is one already for the iron horse run by pat holt and long may it continue. i would like to get lawnriders, easimows and motor hoes. iron horses are also welcome as an addition but not to replace the great list that pat and george had built up over the years. also any other horticultural anzani’s that may exist. so if you would be kind enough to help me get started please could you pm me the machine model, number, engine type and any other information that might be of interest along with your name and county. i will then send you an email of the register once its up and running. many thanks. p.s if your iron horse is not yet registered with pat holt i can pass your information to pat at your request

    Project "Why Not"

Morning all, my back has kinda put me out of action for a while, so only a small update as it's all I've managed. Now.. A couple of people have told me I'm mad for making my own wheel PCD adaptors and I should just buy some!! All I can say to that is I'm making them because I can All it's costing me is time... Lot's and lot's of time! Starting with a slightly heavy 40mm thick square of steel. The center has been marked with a punch and a circle drawn so I know where to slice the corners off. This is a bit hard to see but here's my workings out to see if the wheel PCD adaptors could actually be made and the two PCD's didn't clash! As always when trying to get a 4 bolt PCD inside a 5 bolt PCD somewhere two of the bolt/stud holes are going to be close! They get even closer when you put a socket on the wheel nut! If your confused it may help if I mention that the small circle next to the socket is where a stud will be for bolt the new wheels onto. And the wheel nuts for the Reliant axle will be countersunk so there is no wheel/stud/nut clearance problems.. Once the corners were sliced off the slab went on the lathe. One side was faced off and a couple of grooves cut to mark out the PCD's before I started boring out the center. Once the center was bored out I turned the slab around to start on the other side. Just about on the size limit for my lathe here! If the diameter been a 1/4 inch wider I wouldn't of been able to get a cutting tool on to make the slab round! I'm just glad that after 8 years of owning the lathe I managed to work out how to bolt on a bracket and some cogs to give me power feed up and down the bed! It does make lathe work a bit boring but at least I only have to turn the handles half as much
