    Project "Why Not"

You might have a point with the lack of oxygen in the mix, I do have an interesting idea that would give me full control on how much air, how much mix goes into the exhaust and it would also atomize the mix better.. It might still come to fitting a flame thrower system, but I'm hoping my new idea will work instead.. But more on that when it happens Yesterday the front of my workshop looked like a mower dealers Two of them are for sale as it happens, just not my two Other than having a bit of tidy up (the workshop needed it) the reason for parking everything out front was to make space for putting my big bench up again so WN can get stripped down and painted.. For the past er... 8 odd years I've been using a bench that basically was a large computer desk with a very large slab of thick chipboard as a top. It served me well for many a year with WN, the 6x6 and others being built on it.. However when WN was taken off the bench late last year it didn't fair too well, broke a few welds and the frame got twisted.. So yesterday a new bench frame was constructed.... Thanks for all you help and welding yesterday Nigel It's a bit hard to tell from this photo but it has a hanging shelf frame.. I just need to add a few more bit's of box and some boards.. When I find some I will be fitting some strong castor wheels to the legs so I can move the bench about when I need to..

    Ride ons at Rosemount 2015

Our club contacted the chap on the homemade tractor and asked him if he would put on a working display of mini tractors. As far as I know he was trying to organise a club to encourage younger people to join our hobby, I didn't get a chance to have a word with him to see how he was getting on. There was a good mix of tractors working and everyone looked to be enjoying themselves. I particularly liked the Kubota B6000 with the blade on it.

    Ransomes Sand Skimming Tractor

Was good to see you Jonathan, bacon sarnies were great too! I'd rather be re assembling the brakes on an MG than watch Scotland loose to Wales!

    Ransomes Sand Skimming Tractor

With a bit of encouragement from Norman and Rhys we managed to dismantle the stiff cable cleaned it up on the wire wheel loads of copper slip and it was good as new, removed the gear change slide from the gearbox and made sure that was free now all working as it should. Rhys re assembled the brakes so all we need now is the engine mounting plate and engine in.

Hayter 21 again, with a difference.

Looking at the plans and part numbers that would be so easy to make and mild steel box section is quite cheap. A computer office seat would do the job. I appreciate the replies. Colin. Three more of these beasts have just been listed in the last 24 hours, one is a beauty at £375.

Ebay listing. 222019773922. This rotten old 21 rough cut has a seat and another set of wheels linked to back of the mower. Has anyone seen this attachment before or was it home made. Listed under Hayter Petrol lawn mowers. sorry me again.

Installed the piston and rings into the blind bore.No easy task with out the proper ring compressor .Trying to figure out where everything goes and the order in which it must be put together has taken some time.Sure could use a parts diagram although I am getting there.not sure what the presets are for the carb but this would make it a lot easier . May be a while to I get back to it because of honey do lists!

    Ride ons at Rosemount 2015

One more ride on that was at Rosemount that day. It was parked up at the side of the working field, looks to have been well made. It would have been interesting to see it hooked up to the tractor pulling sled

    Project "Why Not"

looks great Ian Do you think you are getting enough oxygen in the mix? Have You tried a spark plug at the end of the tailpipe on the out side, a little way back so air could be mixed in before the spark, I suppose it's possible you could be trying to ignite fuel and carbon monoxide. You could always add nitrous oxide in the mix to increase the oxygen . With your skills I'm sure you could fabricate some sort of combustion chamber to fit around the end of the pipe to create a venturi effect using the exhaust gasses to pull clean air and fuel in from around the outside of the pipe with the plug firing it at the end. Maybe just a length of larger pipe around the end of the exhaust would do with the outer pipe sticking out further than the inner to get the 'draw' (similar to the old 'airline' powered vacuum cleaners) and the fuel injected between the two, Just a thought,

    Lancaster chain saw

Here is a advert from 1973 found online that has two O&R powered Lancaster chainsaws, the 20SLA Automatic that Lee has and the 15SLA Mini Automatic that I have. Also attached are some pictures of my smaller Lancaster 15SLA Mini Automatic with the 13B engine. The air filter is different to the standard ones fitted to O&R's, also the instructions aren't quite right as the chain oiler is automatic. David
