    The Cushtyman

Thanks James Stripping the Cushtyman has not been easy, they are very well bolted together without a captive nut in sight! A big thanks to Rex for all your help removing the engine To make life easier out came the grinder to remove some "in the way" metal "Are we sure the engine comes out through the top"? With the aid of a forklift it did Not what you would call a small engine, it should look good polished up sticking out each side from a WH bonnet

    Steam pump.

This, what I think is a steam/compressed air pump has been unearthed. Don't know the make or anything about it and it is seized up. Also, if you look closely at the second photo, you will see the pump head is split. Don't know why that photo has come up as a thumbnail, but if you click on it, it will enlarge.

Two more trailers in the collection

As the saying goes... "Why have 1 when 6 will do" Saxon (or who ever is making them now) are great trailers, but they need a bit of extra strength added to stop them bending over time.. It can make it hard to get the sides on

    Pole carrier.

The Showman kindly made up three ploughing sighting poles for me, which he brought up to Newby. I've been thinking of how to transport them when at a match. Today I set too to see what I could come up with. Some aluminium 1" angle, U bolt, plastic pipe and a couple of pieces of cushion foam and two hours later the result. Yesterday I made up some points for them. Held in place with split dowels. Didn't want to damage Chris's paint work. The poles rest on a rubber strip and another piece of foam goes 'tween poles and U bolt, to stop them rattling about. BTW. I can still operate the clutch. .

A short video of a test ride. Weird engine noise is the flywheel hitting the blower housing.

Got a little more done and was able to finally test ride. Need to get those bearings installed for the steering, Ride was rough because it was hard to steer with just bushings in there. Hopefully a video this weekend. That's my grandson going for a test fit and he looks much better on it than I do. He said he wants one when he gets his license.
