The Work Horse, C-125, has been a bit off colour lately. Suspect dirt in the carb. So today off with the float bowl and my suspicion was correct. Some strange foreign particles floating about in there. Cleaned and re-fitted, then started up and did the hand over venturi trick to clear the jets. Re-set the carb for idle then full throttle and the old thing is running like a good un. I then decided to check over the C121 and C81 as they are going to R.P.T. and Biddenden shows. They are both now in the peak of fitness. Here they are, snug as bugs in a rug.

Spotted the rear offside mud flap was hanging off the Disco yesterday. Only one self tapping screw stopping it say adieu. So this morning I thought I'd better do something about it. So a piece of surplus shelving bracket, four nuts and bolts plus an hour and, VIOLA! Another thing I found was, despite the wheels being alli, they ain't half heavy. A short army surplus spade now resides in the back. Just the job for levering the wheel up onto the studs.

Frame back on along with 3 speed and forward/reverse lever. Need to fit up brake pedals with springs ect, fit fuel tank and see if engine runs (been over a year, but is a fully rebuilt engine) after a test drive it will be time for the front auger and rear conveyor frame, I don't think the latter will fit in the shed though....

I have seen this over and over and the only reason I can come up with is there was no one behind him holding a shovel ready to stop him.

Most of the walk behinds were front mount so I see no issue with this set up. Would seem fairly efficient, even if the bar is somewhat shorter (?) than a side sickle, it would seem power and speed would equal out the difference.

With the spade you can move the wheel round a bit, if the studs are out of line a bit with the holes. You can't turn the hub.

You could always let the Jack down a tad

Hi there, I have been using a 6 liter chinese ultrasonic cleaner for years now. Mostly carburettor cleaning due to the limited size. I tried all sorts of cleaning agents, but I have had most succes with a mixture of 10% toilet cleaner to 90% wind screen washer fluid (for brass cleaning) or 20% toilet cleaner to 80% wind screen washer fluid (for aluminum, zinc and steel cleaning). Don't use to much toilet cleaner! Brass will discolour and cheap aluminium (read: japanese carburettors) disappears if you go above 35% toilet cleaner. Both items are cheap, effective and easy to get. I usually run it at 45°C for 1 hour with toothbrush scrubbing at the end. A couple of examples can be seen here: It's parts that wasn't touched since 1945 and I think the pictures speak for themselves. I did paint the intake elbow though :-) /Steen

Just been to the last meeting before the show and walked round the showsite, we have 24 exhibitors entered so should have 30+ exhibits for the horticultural section. the working area will be ploughed then harrowed and rolled on friday, so should be a bit softer for us to play on at the weekend. we will be in the same place as last year more or less and have one arena display each day but that might change depending how things work out. there will be a fish and chip van on friday from about 5 and i can highly recommend it. looking forward to seeing you all and thanks for your support

The Mountfield I recently sold had a B&S engine. I re-fitted the linkages on that the wrong way round. Worked ok though and the tractor went faster.

Continued today... belt tensioner adjuster first. Followed by cutting the keyways in the cross shaft. Had as a quick run round the garden, it works! but can't be used on C4 as I can't lift it off the floor... The belts and axle are in the way
