    C-125 Rebuild.

My C-125 have done stirling work since I got it about 7 years ago. Mowing the green and verges where I live and towing trailer loads of wood. The only things I have done to it, is to replace the head gasket a couple of years back, a stack exhaust and recently AG rear tyres. It does use some oil though. Having to top it up after a couple of hours running. This how she looked when purchased. There is a rear discharge deck that I had to rebuild in the first year of ownership. You can see it to the right of the workshop doors. For some time I've been saying I'll give it a good going over. Having acquired some engine parts of Richard (Anglo Traction), I thought I'd better make a start ready for next season. It won't be a show room job, so don't expect one. Bit pointless when it's a worker, but an engine rebuild and a tidy up. Plus anything else I find needs doing.. So today the strip down began. Bonnet/hood removed. Wiring to the engine disconnected along with cables and seat plus fender.

    More Red Stuff.

As some of you know I bought a couple of Toro GWT's earlier in the year, one complete that I sold on and one brand new that I'm keeping. On a previous visit to my friends place and having a rummage in the yard I found the other one and it seemed silly not to have it as a spares tractor. Its been stored since the late 70s and in a sorry state but it's all there and was well worth the money.

    Wheelhorse snowblower

Made some good progress today after getting it off the bench, i put it on a sack trolley and got it from the workshop to under the carport. It was quite easy to fit it into the quick hitch on the front of the Raider 12, the flag was easy to fit on the lift lever and all I had to do was put a 1/2" spacer on the lift rod to get a bit more height. The next hour was spent looking through all my belts and was lucky to find one that fitted. Bolted some more bits on so the parts box is almost empty and as darkness fell I fired the tractor up and ran the blower, spinning well and fast and the best bit the right way.

Block is back with new liners . Apparently it took all a 10 ton press could do with a hot block and frozen liners. once in then machined to correct size for standard rings. Quick coat of fresh paint and now start to replace all bearings.

Well, he has. He has sold some stuff to make more room for more stuff. Makes sense to me.

"I need more room", he says. "I'll have to sell some stuff", he says.

    Rare wheel horse tractor

Awesome find! Yes they are rare in the UK and I can't believe this was in a scrap yard! good save. The tractor looks fairly complete which is good, much better than my RJ58 was when i got it. A good site for wheel horses and possible help with spares is wheelhorseforum.com With regards to a serial number, they were printed on a foil sticker on the top of the chassis rail, just behind the inside of the bonnet. At least thats where they are on an RJ, they were quite often lost unfortunately. Good luck!

    David Brown 990 Selectamatic

That's very interesting. They are good tractors the David Browns; I can recall driving a DB tractor (cannot remember the model sadly) back in the early 80s on a farm in Catsfield, Sussex. I guess that is why I am attracted to the similar coloured Bolens then....
