meadowfield got a reaction from CNew in 1964 Cub cadet 100
After 10 years of exclusive WH ownership, I’ve turned to the dark side.
picked this up from the Essex coast the other night after a mammoth 11 hour round trip.
it’s in average condition, not much rust. But has the scars of an engine transplant. It’s a tidy job, but they’ve chopped the hood and chassis...
looking for a few bits:
kohler k241 engine
dunlop implement tyre 6-12

Been a while since I updated things...
firstly new rubber!
after getting the wheels powder coated I stuck a new set of 6-12 on. I couldn’t find another Dunlop ag tyre.
Ewan fixed the hood... made a smart job, where it had been butchered
then this happened.
I made a three point for the back.
then this 😀
the IH club helped me get the original number plate. Registered in Carlisle in 1964.
I painted a plate in scale with the tractor. Not legal, but I’m hardly likely to drive it on the road...
Still need to sort a trip darn south to see Chris and pick up that engine. Then I can think about adding hydraulic lift 😁
in the meantime I’m planning a pto on the back...

meadowfield reacted to Joseph in Westwood challange - help needed
We have been looking for a rare side mounted shredder for ages, to fit on our Westwood D1200. One appeared in our local auction and we managed to get it for a great price. The shredder had been modified to run from an electric motor and the mounting bracket was missing. We were going to make a mounting bracket but managed to get one.
The challange was to turn the shredder back to standard and fit it onto the tractor. I think the attachment bracket was designed to be factory fitted because it was a lot of work to fit. Once we got the attachment fitted to the tractor we hit a problem. The idler has been modified and the belt it came was was incorrect, which is one too many variables.
A replacement belt is proving to be very difficult to find, a number of Westwood dealers claim the attachment does not exist and I don't know anyone who has the attachment who can help. Does anyone know what the belt size should be?
A quick video on progress, even my cameraman got in on the action!

meadowfield got a reaction from Triumph66 in Westwood W8 (1983) "Baby" - restoration
Tomas,
when did you mail me (restorationdecals)? My son usually replies immediately, orders usually take a few weeks due to other commitments. We've just done a print run last week....
thanks

Slowly, slowly forward. Now there will be mounting the gearbox and engine

Hey Doug, good to have you back - nice work!
Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time

if you are stuck removing them...
here is the easy way, though this one needed 6 tons and a lot of heat!

fab stuff,
so can we say mk1 had flat footrests and central gear select before moving to column change and sloping footrests?
I note the main dash decal stayed the same for quite a while, but the ignition, lights and warning decals changed a few times?

meadowfield got a reaction from Rayp in three point hitch weight
Not that the GT14 needs it, but this will end up on the front of bendy - when I finish the hitch arms that I've been making for 2 years
Here you go - the old 5 gallon water tank from the loft - filled with concrete... perfect 100lb weight that once painted red will look factory.
best get that front hitch sorted...

looking good - currently got two Westwoods - T1600 and W11. Trying to pull more of the history of the early models together on them if anyone know more. Looks like early models are 1980'ish with gear change in the usual place and steel grills?
Anyone got any old brochures on the early models?

meadowfield reacted to the showman in Swapped the grinder and welder for hammer and nails
After finishing Bill & Ben Pam’s been on about her list so thought I’d do a few bits.
We had some gate post’s snapped through the winter and a hand rail but I didn’t know the gates were so rotted, I found some pallet wood that’s almost the right size so repaired all thee gates and concreted in new posts, finished off with a coat of creosote that I happened to have in stock.
Ive got to finish the hand rail but earned lots of brownie points.

I didn't try - it weights a few tons and was being pulled by a 220hp tractor most of the day!
