Got those last year, Jonathan. Mostly gone now.
Brisco. Sunday week. 20th. Bringing a Ransome and plough? I can get you booked in.
-
Whey! Hey! No more kinked necks.
-
At least I've got to be an old codger.
-
Thanks Chris. Workshop looks tidy cos it's full.
-
Decided to put the Black Horse on the table and check out some settings for plough depth. I found the battery was flat, so no time like the present to test the winch. Up and on it went with little bother.
I did find, as the tractor started to go up the ramps, the table tilted a bit. So some support legs are on the cards. Maybe get those done this afternoon.
Also the table didn't want to pump up. Not surprising really. Tractor, plough and front weight will be a bit heavier than 185kg. Still 17" off the ground gave a comfortable working height. The table could be set higher, before loading the tractor though. Not that I'll be working under it.
-
No good bringing you a load or two of these then.
-
-
Best put them in the van for him, Alan.
-
Got them from a chap 3 miles from me. He and his son run an engineering/machine shop. Have one heck of a collection of stationary engines. Jonathan mentioned seeing them, so I went to see. Just in time as they were due for the skip.
-
You never know when some scrap box section will come in handy. I'll have them. Tell Chris to fetch 'em up to Newby Hall.
-
Had a bit of a play today. Handle that can be fitted either end and hand winch for dead tractors.
Bit of tidying up to do, then it will be ready for number three grandson to clean up and paint at Easter. I've not told him yet.
-
Do I book my holidays now?
-
Get some ags on and it'll climb mountains.
-
I think 35kg/77lb would be more than enough for me. I'd have to start doing press ups. What weight are standard Wheel Horse weights? Anyone know?
-
Looks well, Adrian. Hopefully all misunderstanding is cleared up now.
You say your making wheel weights. I would be interested in a pair for my wheel Horses.
-
Well done to you all.
I've got a couple of forms for Tam, for the HVC ploughing match near Carlisle. No mention of horticultural on them, but I hope to sort that out tonight. I'll give him a call tomorrow. Going to take my C121 anyway. Just wish I had wheel weights.
-
I see in the third photo, he's having a look to see if there's anything he's missed.
-
I just noticed the cable snagged under under the pedal. 2nd photo. Been out and sure enough, it was preventing the lift from going higher. So perhaps not the weight of the tractor after all and I've not knackered it. .
-
Got everything free(ish) and a sheet of 5/8" ply, that been propping up the workshop wall for some time, temporarily fitted to the top. Found out it will not go down unless weight is on. It is hydraulic with foot pedal and very slow. I had to test it of course, before going any further.
Max weight 185kg it says on the side. Think there's a tad more on there. But it never budged. It won't lift over 20" high now, but that will do me nicely. It will most likely stay at that hight as well. No need really to lift it up and down.
More to do yet. But may be a while.
-
You'll not run out of air with that fella. I like it.
-
Got it in one, Koen. The smaller one does work but has had a wheel amputated. The larger one, which is the one I will be keeping, needs freeing up. Pedal was seized and is now being soaked in penetrating fluid.
If your going to Newby Hall, Nigel.
-
Picked up these today. Any one guess what they are? And hopefully what one at least will be?
-
-
Nice! You'd be lucky to find something like that over here.
