Well after 15 years my lease was up on my workshop and the powers that be won’t extend it, so what do I do? 2 choices realy, first one is retire and sit in my rocking chair pissing me knickers and dribbling until I snuff it , or start again,  we’ll it wasn’t rocket science and the decision was made. 😂

    And 2.5 weeks later

Aye, I can't even offer you accommodation as my trailer tent got squashed as well!!
The quantity is one thing but they are so closely packed that access is limited and we're stuck for anywhere to pile up the brushwood now as all our tracks through the trees and dumping areas are gone.
Quite a few leaning trees and there's nowhere to run when the roots fall back, we'll leave this one to the younger guys with big machines who'll leave it a right mess probably.

Not really. But we're slowly making space. I'll just cut it up there and and leave it till I have.

During the recent storm, a rather large tree was uprooted down the bridleway. Those who know me have no need to guess who'll be having it for firewood. But it's position it is in, leaning over the bridleway and against a tree on the opposite side, makes getting down on the ground a bit tricky.

I do have a plan that hopefully will work. Remove as many limbs as I can, not mine I hasten to add, to reduce the weight. Then get one of the lads from the farm round the corner with the telehandler. Get that under the tree as near to the top as possible, ease it up and push it over onto the bridleway. May be a while before it can be done.

My mate Dunc had an old buck rake of unknown origin lying about. For fitting on the rear of a tractor. We'd got it into the workshop last week to see what we could do with it. First thing was a new hydraulic hose which Dunc had got made earlier this week.
With that fitted we set too to make it into a forklift, for mainly moving crates of firewood. First we cut off the two outside prongs and the centre one. Then some scrap angle iron was welded to the now outside prongs.  This was to extend them to reach fully under a pallet.

Pleased to say things worked well. And cheap as well.

Long time since I posted.      Norm, yes. Although since i said that, my chances of actually making them is diminishing. The wrist joints are a real issue now and holding up my progress on many things.
Prioritising this project has now brought it to nearly finished stage. Last week, it took 2 days to mask off the rear wheel sides and strakes (treads) to etch prime/paint the faces of the rims-

Need to dull off the front rims next

With this back together on wheels, I finished making the alternative drawbar for the Water Cart so it can be 'hitched up'.
    Trial fit to check levels-

Hoses and plumbing to do on this next.

    Regards

Thought I'd just add an update, as it has been a while and only recently able to progress with this one.
It does not really fit in this forum section as a project. So just to say that I've got it nearly all back together.
When it is properly running, I'll add it to the 'Other Garden Machines' section

late to the party, we've welded two of these successfully...  there are all just tacked!  presumably to break the fork instead of something else when you swing on it!

Went to see a friend. While there I took a few photo's of his 1954 Eitcher. Starts and is road legal. Runs beautifully and sweet.

Nice long stroke air cooled diesel. Fan behind the air filter, driven off the centre pulley in front.

While there, Dunc bought this very good condition trailer.

Yeah iv read the thread the other day. Been helpful. I have a friend who has all the parts but getting them would be like bleeding a stone. So I'm stuck with just the frame 😅 I might just make it look original but with something special under the bonnet
