Yup! This is the one. Please let me know if you need a diaphragm to go with it.
It's missing a spark plug but was running when I parked it.
-
OK, You get the Tiny Tigers, not the good stuff
-
For some reason these coils seem bullet proof and very rarely see a bad one unless it's physically damaged. Haven't had too many bad condensers either but there's been a couple.
-
I'd take that Tobey for a ride, and just keep on go'n
Probably road rash within 10ft though
-
Not sure the exact year can be nailed down.
That appears to me to be a mid to late 60s engine? It's not early because of the coil on there but not late because of the pull handle and cooling baffle.
I don't know the date of any of mine and have about 60-70, I think. Lost count a while ago.
Clean her up and use the file drawing below to identify parts you need. We'll help you best we can.
click on here and scroll down to 1965. You'll see 118

They look good! Please cut 25 of each. Thank you!
Never took mine outta the box and probably should've tried it. Was waiting to see what Terry's $500 cutter does.
-
Finally found the last item I'm aware of for the collection. These Lewis winches were made for Homelite and these blue ones seem to be super rare. It's the same winch as the common orange units but the blue Homelite paint makes it a better fit for the collection.
Just need the small drive belt which the seller forgot to add in the box but is sending. Probably find a nicer power head to switch this on to as well.
-
I know you guys had to see this and I did throw my hat in the ring but it went for more than I wanted for. 1st one I ever saw so it's a unique item.
Did one of you guys score this?
-
with yellow Poka Dots please!
Looks good and thanks again. I'll need to paint'm silver hammered tone like the base is.
I have a newer style recoil decal , Gold color with the patent #s on the right side, probably could use pics for the older styles and just pick one of them since there are a couple versions. So one newer style, one older style both in silver if that's good. If you want to send me both the recoil & 1HP decal, I'll ask about doing some entire set ups with recoil, bird, HP for 3/4 and 1 and the stop switch.
-
Enjoyed talking with you too. My wife is the same way. I just tell her she needs a hobby then she won't care. LoL
Looks great! And thanks again for your help.
And you might as well just send me that little NOS engine too!
-
The engine is centered to the existing mounting holes in the base so both of those pieces are the same, just mirrored. And what you have pictured looks good!
The front mount sits centered to the mount holes but the holes for the gear box will need to be offset to the left, just like the shaft is in the engine you have pictured. That;s the same gear box. I can drill the holes for the gear box mount
The engine mount will be able to slide in the mount so I will line up the pulley before drilling holes to mount the gear box plate. There's also some adjustment on the shaft for the pulley.
I can call you about 8 pm if that works
-
Will this work Terry? there's 3 total pieces. Let me know if anything doesn't make sense. Do you have a gearbox with the same shaft position? Away from the engine?
A base mount tank doesn't really work unless there's a plate made to mount to the base and wide enough for the tank mount holes.
-
Waiting for gaskets.
Just mess'n with Clint. I'll try and get you some info for that compressor to mount the engine
-
That stuff is cheap, I can just order some and have it sent directly to Eric if that's better. I'm in for at least 25 sets, how much of that material do you have?
-
Me too.
2 if i had the gaskets sent to Clint
-
Just in time too. I was gonna do ya a big favor and send ya this
funny! I missed this before
-
I do have some base mount tanks but it would still need to be supported at the PTO shaft or it will break off those little tabs.
Think it's also possible to turn the compressor so the shaft is 90 deg and then reposition the handle and air output to where they are now.
It would probably look cooler with pulleys and a belt but...
-
I should have a soup can tank bracket if you need one. I still owe ya!
IMO they look better without the plastic cover. But if it does have one, it's good to keep it original.
Only the early covers have the threads on the covers. The majority will have the threads on the plates and the screw heads facing the recoil. Mustang style chainsaws have the threads on the tank and the cover and plate don't have threads.
-
You can see it in these pics. Yellow outboard in the middle of my display. I can get some close ups.
I'm with Clint, the soup can would probably look better but...
-
Clint and you were posting up all kinds of stuff so I picked up my game to join in. They don't necessarily need to have a water cooled head but it needs the air flow if it doesn't.
Can't believe you guys left that motor up there for so long either. I thought everybody knew something I didn't.
Shipping big expensive RC boats can be a gamble. I'll be searching for something local and hope to find one. Or just build something for it. Built one a long time ago with a weedeater trimmer engine and used it to catch Bass with. It wasn't fast but it was more like a tug boat. Funny watching fish jump behind an RC boat pulling them in. I might have some old pics.
-
Unfortunately this engine does not have that rotary valve but still have 2 more engines to check.
Received a box of NOS Octura parts and I already have a radio and servos somewhere. Now to find nice old vintage boat to power up.
-
Found this compressor and engine but it's obviously not the Orline style. Came with a paint gun too
It's missing the engine mount but I'm thinking this might have been an electric motor model. IDK
Wondering if @JUST O&R Terry is up for the challenge of making a motor mount?
-
I did one with a Drillgine tank.
I'll get some pics
-
Crap! I shoulda sent some of those too. Plus Eric is very good at finding the correct material too. He found the mylar? plastic we used for those check valves.
