    Pole carrier.

A neat solution to carrying the poles Norm, now you just need to work out how to "fire" them out and stick in the ground where you want
  2. That's rather nice Norm, I'd be inclined to just clean it up and hang it on the wall in your garage, great decoration to look at while your sitting having a coffee/tea break
  3. Nice cars Matt, great condition.. Shame you sold the saloon.. Sooo, when's the 2.9 Cossie V6 going in the estate? My dad had a Mk3 Cortina estate years ago, 1.6L auto which was so slow!! I was also my dad's first automatic, it took him quite a while to remember not to push the clutch pedal down
  4. Happy birthday Chris, here's wishing you a good day
  5. A cautionary tale for you guy's and girl's involving stagnant pond water.. My Wife's son Adam had just started a job trial doing landscape gardening, and was told to help clear out a stagnant pond.. Despite having all the safety gear on, thick waders, eye protection, gloves etc he somehow managed to get a bit of wood stuck in he's finger right under the nail after it went through the glove.. Now Adam did what we would all do, pull the bit of wood out, wash the finger and think no more of it.. All was fine until the evening when Adam started to feel like he had a cold/flu coming on... The next day the flu symptoms were a bit worse, so like we would all do Adam just thought he had the flu, it is doing the rounds after all.. The next day the flu symptoms were even worse including a little bit of dizziness.. The next morning Adam was woken up by a shortage of breath and heart palpitations.. He also had strange lumps on he's hands and feet! So he did the right thing and went to the hospital... That was three weeks ago and he is not out yet! What he had caught from the stagnant water was Weil's disease, This infection typically only causes mild flu-like symptoms, including headaches and chills.. If caught early enough!! Unfortunately Adam's wasn't caught early enough and the Weil's disease had started to cause damage to he's spleen, liver, kidney and partially collapsed a lung! That may sound bad but it's all fixable with the right drugs.. The really bad bit is the Weil's had been eating away at two heart valves which is why Adam aged 28 (I think) had two heart valves replaced at St Thomas's hospital yesterday afternoon/evening! The op went well with no problems which was very good news, if Adam recovers well he could be home in a couple of weeks.. So, watch out for stagnant pond water guy's, it can be very nasty life threatening stuff!! Oh, Weil's disease is also available from rat pi$$!
  6. Nice photo's Paul, though you could of found a way of bring that rather nice McCormick B-450 back for me
  7. Thanks mate, she wouldn't be quite so awesome without your decals Thanks Chris, the early Commando style decals do work very well. As I'm a bit slow answering this, you already know what's next Thanks Alan, yeah she has come on a bit over the past 2-ish years.. Thanks Koen, ah the dreaded acorn shooter.. Pete still talks about it every once in a while Ta muchly mate A little late posting this up, but here's a bit of WN action from Brenzett..
  8. Nice work Chris, I'm looking forward to a video of the discs in action... Oh, and don't forget to video Pam's reaction when she works out what you have just done to the lawn

    The Ferrari.

Yeah, it's strange how that can happen
  10. Don't forget to leave some space for a small wood burner, I'm guessing it can get quite cold on the border during winter..
  11. Looks like you guy's and girl had a great time at Mark's place.. A cool video Chris, did Norm have to be towed out in the end?

    The Ferrari.

Good to see you getting on with this Ash, the new rubber looks great
  13. Thanks for the warning Kev

    The Cushtyman

Morning all, yesterday Nigel and I started to strip down the Cushman after a quick test drive of course Tipping bed off.. A nice beefy hydraulic ram The front panels coming off, way more wiring than we were expecting! The prize, well part of it... A OMC 23hp flat twin with lot's of ally for Nigel to polish
  15. Nice work John, you have the "look" just right Keep us updated on the progress as it's a cool build and it will help with Norm's ideas
  16. Mines a bed for two As Koen says, it's too JCB The dirt drag racing is fun to watch, I'm going to have to stretch it by a few inches anyway to get the engine in. It does and I'm not painting the quad yellow That's more like it Paul I think maybe simply "Hold on" or even HYGLI.... "Have you got life insurance?" It hasn't taken long to tear into this project, the bodywork soon came off.. With the aid of a Nigel, a Rex and a scaffold board the V twin was soon on the bench to see how much work is ahead. Hhmmm, it looks quite a bit bigger than the original 230cc lump! So... Out come the small engine followed by a few slices to the frame. The quad now looks very "Mad Max" with the parts roughly piled in place Sorry for the blurred photo, with the wheel under the engine swapped for a small trolley I could prop the parts at more of the correct height. The bottom two tubes need to be level to line things up.. The engine will hang a bit lower than the original but not by much.. Now this is where Honda had thought ahead for me and decided it would be a good idea if their quad engine had the same splines on the gearbox as a CX500 bike engine Thank you Honda for making life easy for me A quick silly photo with one of the first WN exhausts bolted on Honda put the quad exhaust can about here, but as I have two cylinders and two of these cans it makes sense to put one each side And of course with every build comes videos.. So here's the first... Enjoy
  17. Looks like your in for a fun weekend guy's, fingers crossed the weather will be good to you
  18. Your soon have it up and water tight. Are you adding insulation and boarding it out inside?
  19. Thanks for all the great comments guy's, yes it was a very relaxed day apart from when I did a couple of "demonstrations" in the arena I couldn't agree more, I'd of loved to of taken it home Slightly off topic but I thought I'd show you this Norm
  20. Stunning, just stunning.. That's a fantastic job Ewan

    The Race is On

You have been busy Chris.. Did you find any WH's you had forgot you owned buried in the back of the workshop?
  23. That's a fun way to spend the day The video was nicely filmed and edited too
  24. Thanks James. The quad is a FourTrax but I'm putting a 500 engine in.. Ok, I may have to think up a better name for this project. You got that right Norm It's not my fault you have been walking past it countless times a day and not really noticed it After a lot of faffing about yesterday the quad was dragged out from it's hiding place under a pile of racing mower parts and put on my bench.. It could of gone easier as the quad would only roll backwards but we got there in the end. The offending engine, it looks quite small for a 250cc.. To make it easier to get around the quad a chopped a foot of the bottom of the bench legs and Nigel welded these massive caster wheels on.. The bench is now easy to move, turn around or even push outside should I feel the urge to work in the sun
  25. It would seem that somehow today I managed to buy one of these with a shot engine (not this one) late this afternoon... Well, I needed somewhere to put the spare CX500 engine I have
