Thanks Doug, that's very kind of you.. For now I will give my home made discs a whirl and see how they work.. If they don't you may well get a PM With both sides of the fender pan widened but not fully welded.. It was time to sort out the drop in the middle.. A dig through the pile of scrap metal on site produced a couple of metal shelves which were just the right thickness... A bit of chopping and tack welding later and although not perfect the arches bit were looking good.. They do need to be angled down towards the front a bit more. Inner arch panels fully welded.. Looking from the inside, I think that could be classed as good welding penetration And here's how it looked by the end of yesterday. The arch extensions each side have been fully welded and all welds smoothed down. The bit's of steel across the top are only there to hold the arches square until I can get some strength added.. And I was viewer number on your vid the other day It's not as wide as it looks in the photo's.. Thanks Neil Ta muchly Iain

Had to buy a Commando 8 engine off the well known auction site, but the seller had another listing of spare parts, just seemed silly to go all that way and not buy both listings. Had a look in the boxes and this is what I found Don't know what the wheels are from, and there's some strange heads

One of my unusal bits .again ive had a lot of years and gets more interest than anything else in my collection Made by Robinson s of Winchester. Paul mackellow also now owns one with a hedge cutter attachment of which we usually display these machines together and both run except mine is very temperamental unlike pauls.

Bought this chainsaw carving from a local guy last year and mounted it up on my shed. Just thought it looked cool with the snow covered beard Amazing what some guys can do with a chainsaw.

It uses the same shaft as the tillers. As for mounting, it looks like it uses the three threaded holes circled in this pic:

Jobbers number 1 and 2 just about done, one more to do and then we are ready for Tractor World...

Nigel, I don't know the answer to you question however I have heard everything from "just a few" to "loads". If someone is counting, I have one. Does anyone know the new owner? Iain

Hi all, I have to admit I haven't had to sell many of my own collection yet although I did let my suburban go which I regretted a lot and I was lucky enough to buy it back, I definitely won't be letting that go again. Another one I definitely won't let go is Ian's 312-8 as it's a really nice machine and I feel that it has a lot of sentimental value if you like within the wheel horse community as it was such a famous horse. Even though I didn't want to sell the 6x6, I don't regret selling it as it allowed us to move to a place we can afford to live in.. But I do regret selling my Wh 312-8.. The best workhorse I have ever had.. But I am happy it has gone to a good home and Tom is working it just as hard as i used to

well my oh my if only i knew it used to be yours..... the current owner lives in wales, he might not be the one who brought it from you, he may of got it from the person you sold it too, but this young fella lives in wales hes only my age. his name is Lewis Vaughan me and him talk regularly hes got a lovely place in wales and has many machines.. Neil if you're interested i have some pictures of the restoration stages hes put it through, and what it looked like when he got it and how it looks now, he told me... " this is my wheel horse rj-58 one of the original 5 wheel horses brought over in 1958 as demo models" hes now restored it and its looking in tip top shape, he also owns a wheel horse comando 8, roper RT-10, huffy 5hp, wheelhorse c121 with lots of attachments, a bolens ride a matic and many more, like i said in the start all these times of talking about the rj too him and i never knew it used to be yours...

The new covers arrived but sadly they are of a different size, at least the supplier is prepared to have them back. Finally got my money back through paypal for the carb, after the seller said thy would only send a replacement once id removed my negative feedback, and accused me of ordering the wrong part etc, it had nothing to do with it being machined wrong! In order to pay the bills ive had to refurb this much later Beaver 4(almost a before and after shot with the two side by side.) bar the frame the unit has changed very little over 30 years.

Hi Ian, sorry to take so long, The discs I thought might be OK are a casting complete with a 'hub' which attaches to a hydraulic wheel motor, these take 8" wheels with a 4" pcd, ( made in Canada ) but the centre doesn't have enough meat to bore out for bearings. I have some other discs which are a bit bigger but around 4mm thick off a different machine, You are welcome to these if you can use them

Hi All Found one pic in my folders of what the plough should look like ,if you do not have this, where it shows the tip on the ground and the heel on the ground with a hollow in-between you will not get what they call suck and the plough will not stay in the ground If the ploughshare is worn and you try to lower the point to get the plough into the ground it will not work This is called dancing on its toes you will never keep your ploughing straight Another tip for the memory bank Thanks George G

Hi all Thanks for comments,will be taking photos next weekend at charity match this will be of benefit to all, meanwhile look in your area there will be tractor ploughing matches, go along and ask questions take photos and build your knowledge,in some areas they hold horticultural matches Find out where. When you set up your Feering poles they must be in line ( photos next weekend}when you set them up then stand at one end look along the line you should only see the one nearest you,you have got it right If you get it wrong do not worry the aim is to get better and have fun Hope this keeps you happy I will be taking plenty of pics next week to show settings required to improve your plough and ploughing Thanks George G Horticultural-Rules-July-2012.doc

I was viewer no.1 on the vid this morning, loving the brakes.... And how wide!!

So today I decided I'd have a look at the fender pan and seat mounting... There is only one way to work out where the seat will go.... Yep, that feels about right This is the start of the seat/fender pan mounting frame, I do need to add more but I need the fender pan to fit first so I can work out what's what.. Hhmm... The fender pan needs a bit of work to make it fit.. It need to be wider and the bit the seat bolts onto need to be about 6 inches lower!! Let's tackle the widening bit first.. The original fender pan was very rotten in the middle and at the back, but I kept the "arches" parts should they come in handy one day A 2 1/4 section was sliced from the spares arch and plonked roughly in place.. Due to fender pans having lot's of different curves and contours a few tweaks will be needed A bit of cutting and welding later and the fender pan was wider one side with matching curves up top.. Oo-er missus The front and back don't quite line up, but I can't work that bit out until the center of the fender pan is in place.. You can see how much wider it is compared to the left side.
