Evening All, Having acquired the front blade for the RJ at the weekend i thought i'd put up a few photos of it more or less complete. The rear plough, which is a Barford Atom item, is the one that was used on the RJ by the previous owner; disc to be found. When the blade arrived home my 5 year old son was chuffed to bits; jumping around with excitement. His 2 year old sister however didn't know what the fuss was all about but joined in jumping anyway. I'll take it to a couple of shows as is before restoration starts although i don't want to end up with it in bits if i need it in any snow

Its not a Tractor, or a mower, its not even old. But this is what we've been up to lately... A drift trike is exactly what it sounds like, a trike that goes sideways sometimes. The idea is to put PVC pipe around the rear tires to help this. There's a bunch on Youtube if you want to know more. My Dad is Dutch, can you tell? I hope he doesnt see this

Just won a Webb Little Wonder hedge trimmer on the bay Its got an O&R engine in it, looks a bit sad but probably saveable Will be picking it up on our way home from our holiday in Yorkshire on June 13th so will post some photos of it then

When at Newby Hall last year, we were camped about 1/4 mile from where our exhibits where. Having three and only being able to drive one at a time, walking back and forth got to be a bit of a bind. So for this year something had to be done to save the poor old legs. They're not as young as they used to be. It's the rigor mortis setting in early. So this morning I had a scrat about. One Westwood front axle and wheels, some 2" box section, surplus ladder racks and the result you can see below. Still ramps to make yet.

I used the same milliput to repair the steering wheel on my suburban , it's a great universal putty and is good to work with. Nice job of steering wheel Ewan

Hello all, I don't want to get your hopes up and tell you it's for sale just yet, but all being well and good, by the end of the summer/christmas, my little cub cadet original might well be up for sale, We are getting vehicle rear access to the back of the house so finally my dream can come true, I've always wanted a full size tractor, not meaning these news things, but like a little grey fergie or something like that, I have my little fund pot tucked away, but sadly the little machines would have to go as they just wouldn't get used + take up some of my storage space, and of course the extra $$$ will help!... you guys know everything about it already pretty much, been restored by myself, erm, runs and drives great, it is what it is, you've all seen enough pictures of it but i'll add one here anyway I'll also chuck that tipping trailer in with it I might get round to painting it by then as it will give me something to do if not, it will be a little rusty . basically you might be thinking why is he putting this ad up on here so early if he isn't ready to sell it?... well I know peoples minds change, so you might like the idea and want to buy it now but when its ready to go, change your mind. but I put it on here to see if any of you guys wanted it before I put it on the bay because at least then I know its gone to a good loving home, not someone who's going to cut it up and do weird and wonderful things with it as some people seem to do! I was toying with the idea of putting it on the bay with a 99p start but a high reserve so I could see interest, but it seems setting a reserve is relatively high, I read something like 10% of the reserve price.... just to ad it.. then if it sells even more charges... hmmm! Anyway, would anyone be interested later on in the year as long as everything goes to plan? I know I hate it myself when people do this to me.. I always think well I cant be the buyer and the seller at the same time, but I'm going to have to do it to you lot at this moment in time, as I just have no idea what it's worth, so I'm going to say... If any of you will be Interested, send me a P.M with what you would offer for my little cub cadet and I'm sure we could talk about it.....the worst I can say is no On another note, If none of you Red Paint Lovers are interested in buying it, your input would also be very welcome with valuations, tell me what you think its worth just in case it does end up on the bay! Thanks mate, it looks even better now it's not silver I didn't take many photos Tuesday as it was quite boring stuff.. The day started with making lots of these small plates.. To cover over these sort of bits on the chassis.. And the day finished with a red oxide chassis The welding is 99% done, just a few small detail bit's left to do.. Wednesday the engine frame got the treatment.. Some final welding and a bit of smoothing out.. Here the frame is fitted to the engine so I could make a mount for the coil pack.. It always amazes me how a quick coat of paint can change how something looks... A red metal sculpture Engine and a few other bits bolted back on.. The wheels were only thrown on to see how the front end looked.. They will be coming back off to fit the new tires/tyres. A close up of the front end... Me likes how it looks Before the rear axle could go back on I had to pull it apart again! The mounting holes needed to be made slightly bigger but the brake backing plates were in the way stopping me getting the drill in... So it was easier just to pull the axles out to get the backing plates out the way. I also needed to drill a small breather hole in the top of the axle and fit a jiggle pin.. A jiggle pin is a small split pin that's a loose fit in the hole.. The idea is the pin jiggles about and stops the breather hole from getting blocked up..
