    My westwood mini jeep

This was one of those things, i saw a picture on the internet and had to have a go. The first picture was my first mod, front wheels the same size as the back ones. The rest are the finished Jeep. If you want to see more info on this I did a blog on instructables http://www.instructables.com/id/Gas-petrol-powered-jeep-from-ride-on-mower/ If the link isn't allowed/doesn't work just search my screen name in google images.

Hi All I have been busy in my new garden hope you like Some of the work some of drink being drunk nice feeling of a job well done as a matter of interest the drain cover that I saved is a slab of sandstone with a square hole cut in it and a grill added well thought out and seems as old as the house which dates from 1750

    BOLENS STASH UPDATE

Nothing found for you today Chris, but did find the cowling / fuel tank for the small engine unearthed last week. This turned out to be a 65cc BSA industrial engine. Also found a Villiers kick start engine in the loft, ex mower by the look of it, and a can of RED paint.

    A very mixed day.

Woke this morning to rain. That soon cleared up and the rest of the day has been bright, if a bit breezy. Got a pair of front wheels for the Black Horse cleaned up and primed. Got all the grass I cut yesterday swept off the green. Rescued Carol and our Loris mother-in-law, when the Spitfire stopped while they were out for a spin. Fuel pump sticking through lack of use. Tap with a screwdriver and all well again. Last but not least, sold the caravan. Only advertised it at the site last weekend. Going to clear it out later this week, then that's no place to go and hide.

    Finished Painting the House

It keeps me in shape and calm to work. I brushed all the oil primer on the under hangs and fascia, then caulked the cracks and repaired some peeling wood. Two coats of satin exterior and wrought iron paint on the post in front. All this took me 10 hours total on three consecutive days. I've been painting for over 30 years, I don't practice anymore, lol

Beautiful house that sort of place over here with twenty acres would cost around half a million quid .

    Been out foraging again

I think I have a fetish for rubber, that's the only way I can explain it. I wait for the UPS or FEDEX guy for hours when I know I'm getting new tires. It's a co-morbidity attribute of the tractor collecting hobby sickness. I'm sure its in the DSM-V.

    Finished Painting the House

All the exterior walls are concrete block with a brick facade, 14 inches of masonry in all. The builder of the home was the Corps of Engineers director that built the large lake a few miles away, from the look of the Corps offices and the house, I believe he purloined most of the materials and probably the labor as well. I've been here almost 20 years on a 25 year lease at 500 per month, next year I'm purchasing the 20 acres and house with the owner carrying the note and giving me a large credit on the years I've leased as a down payment, total loan should be around 150,000.

    C-120 refurb.

Managed to get a bit of workshop time today and got some bit jobs done on the Black Horse. (1) Clutch pedal rod adjuster nut freed off. Pedal doesn't need pressing as far forward now. (2) Slight play in right rear hub taken out. About 6 thou difference in hub bore and drive shaft diam. Sorted by use of hammer and centre punch to inside of hub. Crude but effective. Nice and tight now. (3) New gaiter fitted to bottom of gear lever. (4) Stop made and fitted to prevent brake pedal from coming to far back. (5) Is on going. Cleaning up a pair of scooter split rim wheels I got at Newby Hall. These are just right for fitting to the front with tri ribs on. Goodness knows what they've been painted with, but it's like concrete. Ready to paint now, after some filler is applied to the rather corroded insides. (6) Started to clean up the front tachomatic. BTW. The little tool box, along with a second, is an MF item.

    BOLENS STASH UPDATE

My wife loves to go get garden tractors with me or even to look or buy an implement. She is the first one ready with a cooler and snacks, sometimes it turns into a two day trip and she is ready to go again the next day if need be. We went after a tractor on our honeymoon and first anniversary. I guess I am very, very lucky.
