Have to wait until next year now! -
4 pointsI've had two of these frames in my "might come in handy one day" collection for about 12 years.. Yesterday was the day to use one.. Some cutting, welding and drilling later it had turn into this spacer. Which fits here to raise the front of the fender pan up a bit.. Take a rusty and dented Gutbrod bonnet/hood.. And cut the first of two patches out of it.. Just in case your getting bored of welding shots, here's a grinding shot instead Ta-daa.. An extended fender pan at the front. Brackets were made and welded to the chassis to stop the fender pan extensions from flapping about the place..

3 pointsDigging through my spares this morning I found this universal choke cable.. On the back it says it's for various triumphs, Escorts, Hillmans and an Austin Princess I guess it's rather old but it will do for HG The fender pan extension edges had a bit of a tweaking to follow the lines down and to add a bit of strength. We also reached a build milestone today.. With all the fabrication done the time had come to pull HG apart for cleaning and painting. A huge amount of grease and dirt had found it's way to the front of the gearbox over the years! Only a few small parts left to come off and strip down is done.. A good place to finish 2015

2 pointsIt's time for a mega picture update guys Ok, not strictly part of the Horse Gut story any more as the Cammo 8 is up for sale (anyone? ) but as I had a machine move about in my workshop I thought I'd grab a pic Now you see the hydraulic pump bracket.. Now you don't As it wasn't needed and looked ugly, Nigel cut it off and gave the remaining bracket a nice curve A couple more "arty blue" shots of Nigel welding.. Some rather heavy duty welding too as the chassis extension plates went on.. I don't think it will move in a hurry A distance shot to show you how the plates give HG a more substantial and "less thin in the middle" look. A strange shaped plate in the making.. Which got tacked on in situ.. Then this weird bloke welded it up

For Sale
Joe the small engine man reacted to Laserscottman for a post in a topic
Hi, Friends-- I've run upon hard times these days, and would like to offer my O&R/Polaris Power Pole Outboard for sale. I'd like a fair price for it (fair to us both) and prefer someone here to have it rather than a squabble on Ebay. Hopefully, someone can offer a reasonable price for it, plus shipping. I've been out of work for about 15mo. now, and may have to go on SS if I can't stay afloat much longer. Here are some pix; the Carburetor section shows the carb of this unit being rebuilt, and other sections show the interior of it all. A video is here: http://vid211.photobucket.com/albums/bb92/laserscottman/IMG_0665.mp4 My email is: Laserscottman@sbcglobal.net -

hi all, I have just got a gold 'n' grey fe35 Ferguson, it has a 4 cylinder diesel engine, It is completely original and hasn't been touch of over 20 years. it was left outside under a tarp for 12years, with the head off and the barrels open to the elements! the paint is fairly good. we went to move the tractor in the morning on Tuesday preparing are self's for a long day of moving it! but we inflated the tyres and to are amazement all the tyres inflated and have stayed up since, this was very shocking as they are all perished and have sat for over 12years in all weathers. we then put chains around the back axels and used a van to pull it out, it came out so easy I was so surprised. we then loaded it onto a trailer with a hand winch and it is currently on my yard awaiting its own shed to be build after new year! I'm now very busy spraying everything with WD-40 and have put ceresin down the bores to free it up a bit, and now I'm cleaning the surface rust off the inside of the liners. I will have to investigate the gear box as it wont go into gear, I have freed up the H and Low lever which in-gages and disinigages, I think the little ball that drops in to hold it in gear when driving is stuck and need moving. I think its going to be easy to get running as they are good engines, I have all the parts which just need bolting on, I will see if the engine will turn over tomorrow after the wd-40 and ceresin has done its job! then if it does I will bolt everything together and get a new battery, filters and fuel as I say everything is completely original, with even the original tax disc holder, with original tax discs in! -

My comment on not being rare, was meant for the little Fergies in general, Joe. True there are not as many of the gold 'n' grey FE35's, but still a good few. Some seen at shows may not be the genuine article. As to freeing the engine, I agree with Nigel. Diesel down the bores will work better than WD40 for penetrating down. Good luck with it anyway. -

When you get around to looking at it again, for Chainsaw parts, I suggest you try Danarm themselves first?. They may still hold spares for it. As for the Carb, Tillotson made them and the HL version is what should be on your machine. The Model number should be stamped on the Body of the Carb. You can order rebuild kits etc from Tillotson via this link- http://www.tillotson.ie/products-parts.php For service and maintaining the Carb, this will be handy if your not familiar- http://www.eccarburetors.com/pdf/HL%20service%20manual.pdf Also, I recall a member here who collects them, Danarmdave is his username I believe?. he may be able to help. -

Just got tarp off and now trying to inflate tyres! amazing how they all went up and have stayed up. this is the tractor out of the garden, without the bonnet as I was looking at the cylinders. this is it loaded on the trailer, with another tractor! which I also picked up from there a westwood t1200. this is the side of the engine as it was when we took the tarp off, it has a bit of old crumbling carpet over the barrels. this is it on the trailer again, from the back showing the westwood and the bonnet. -

The title says it all, Ewan has spent half the summer on his cub. We've not got much footage, a bit of a play on a rainy Boxing Day seemed like a good idea. Until he conked out The little cub was towed back to the shop and Ewan will no doubt be doing a restore thread -
1 pointI wish you two were closer, i'm looking for some one to fab up a original muffler for my Wheel Horse D160 k341. I found a chrome heat shield from an old cycle, just need a 8.5"x4" body with an inlet and outlet centered out the ends, a type 1.

Sounds as though it may be similar to Owatrol which can either be added to paint or applied by itself as a patina preserver. This cultivator was just given a wash with hot soapy water and the a coat of Owatrol to preserve the original rust, paint and patina, preventing further deterioration . -
